MIDEANDO String Quintet propone un nuovo genere musicale definito dall' EBMA "Associazione Internazionale ed Europea di Musica Acustica" :NEW ACOUSTIC MUSICL'utilizzo di strumenti acustici quali mandolino, octave mandolin, mandoloncello, violino, chitarra e basso elettrico, crea un sound originale ed inconfondibile arricchito da raffinate armonie vocali a 5 voci. Il genere musicale si può riassumere in una sorta di fusion tra il Rock Blues ed il Pop con influenze Jazz ed Etno più una spruzzata di Country.Il Cd " L'INVERNO DEI COLTELLI " , pubblicato nell'autunno 2000, comprende brani originali ed è il risultato di una approfondita ricerca che unisce le sonorità degli strumenti acustici ai testi in italiano dello scrittore Giulio Mozzi (Mondatori-Einaudi). Lo spettacolo comprende anche brani cover completamente ri-arrangiati. Alcuni di questi sono raccolti in un Cd live dal titolo " BOOTLEG ! " , registrato durante il tour 2001.Il Cd " VIAGGIO ... " , prodotto da Velut Luna (giugno 2004), continua nella via intrapresa presentando dieci nuovi brani originali e due cover che “vivono†dell’inconfondibile sound Mideando. Il nuovo CD "TUTTE LE DIREZIONI ", sempre prodotto da Velut Luna e presentato ufficialmente all' IBMA - Nashville USA - in ottobre 2007, contiene sette nuove canzoni originali più le cover "You are the one that I love" dal film Grease, "Video killed the radio star" dei Buggles, e "These are the days of our lives" dei Queen, tutte ri-arrangiate dalla band. Inoltre è presente una versione Msq del traditional "Turkey in the straw".L' European Bluegrass Music Association ha pubblicato nel 2008 un Cd per il decennale dell'EWOB Festival "10 Years of EWOB" contenente le Migliori esibizioni live di questi anni. MSQ e' presente con una propria versione "a cappella" del traditional americano "Talk About Suffering" . ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------Mideando String Quintet is proposing a brand new kind of music that EBMA (European Bluegrass Music Association) has defined as : NEW ACOUSTIC MUSIC The use of instruments such as mandolin, octave mandolin, mandocello, violin, guitar and electric bass creates a wide spectrum of string sounds which is rounded of by polished 5 part vocal harmonies. Their style of music can be summarized as a fusion of Rock, Blues and Pop, influenced by Jazz and Ethno-music with a touch of Country-Bluegrass.In the CD "L'INVERNO DEI COLTELLI", published in Fall 2000, there are original songs written by Mideando; this CD is the result of a in-depth musical research that puts together the sound of their acoustic instruments and italian texts written by Mr. Giulio Mozzi (book writer for Mondadori-Einaudi). During their show many Covers, fully rearranged, are performed. Some of these songs are collected and available in a Live CD called "BOOTLEG !", recorded during the 2001 Tour. The CD "VIAGGIO..." (trasl.: Journey), produced by Velut Luna (June 2004), keeps on the already choosen direction, presenting ten new original songs and two covers that live the unmistakeable Mideando's sound. In the issue of March-April 2007 of the IBMA Magazine, there is an article regarding the MSQ like 1 European Bluegrass band 2006/07. They represented European Bluegrass Music at the IBMA's World of Bluegrass 2007 in Nashville USA, in october. The IBMA Magazine is distribuited all over the world.The new CD “TUTTE LE DIREZIONI†(trasl: All The Directions) will be first introduce during the IBMA 2007 in Nashville, USA. The CD contains 7 original songs with Italian or English lyrics, plus 3 re-arrangement covers (You Are The One That I Want from the movie Grease, Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles and These Are The Days Of Our Lives by Queen) and an MSQ’s version of Will The Circle be Unbroken and Turkey In The Straw.The European Bluegrass Music Association has published the "10 Years of EWOB " Cd (2008). It contains the Best live performances of these past ten years. MSQ is included with their own arrangement "a cappella" of the american traditional song titled "Talk About Suffering" .
