I was a Polish novelist and dramatist born on August 4, 1904 in Maloszyce, near Kielce, Congress Poland. I died on July 24, 1969 in Vence, near Nice, France. I studied law at Warsaw University and then at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Intenationales, Paris. Sincerely, I didn't really like it, but it was the only way to meet other young intellectuals. In 1920 I started writing in Poland. The publication of the novel “Ferdydurke†brought me acclaim in literary circles. During the outbreak of World War II, I moved to Buenos Aires and stayed there until 1963. There were hard times for me and I don't really want to talk about it, although the sixties were quite good period for me. Six months before my death I married Rita Labrosse.
