I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

"Nullum magnum ingenium sine mixtura dementiae fuit."
I have been collecting records since at 1988. I cannot live without music.... Which is now evolved until I can't survive without my music making equipment either. Collecting hardware is a bit like collecting vinyl....Totally Obsessive!
So many sounds just waiting to be created.... Different waveforms, filters, that special parameter called resonance.... An endless array of possible outcomes....
There is something special about laying in bed thinking about a particular sound then getting up at 4am and attempting to create it! I still am ARP 2600 crazy.... My soul has a primal need for patch cords....
I have been practicing my soldering, so the next project is....x0xb0x....Done! Next project is another x0xb0x! Devilfish modded it shall be....Then i have a few sid chips lying around that need to be heard again....
Electronic music has been my passion almost as long as I have conscious memory of my own existence (about 1982).... I first heard true house music in 1988 and by 1991 it was all about techno (My parents were a little concerned as for awhile i think they believed Underground Resistance was some sort of socialist movement)....My friends at high school never understood.... It took until 1998 (a few years after school had finished) for them to realise i might not be completely insane. For a small scary period in 1993/94 i honestly did believe Hardcore would never die.... After surviving that - Jungle was what inspired me for the next few years....
Then i got old and boring - Progressive house helped me escape alot of things in life i didn't want to think about.... (Nothing too scary).... Just contemplating one's own mortality is enough to seek solace in a bass bin sometimes.... I used to go out 5 nights a week....Friends who have read this tell me I am lying.... Apparently it was more like 7!.... Just to get lost in the music.... Especially some of the inspired production coming out of Melbourne 1996 - 2002.... When I am out (or in my studio) nothing in the world matters anymore except the quality of the sound and the interplay of the notes....
The last few years have been back to basics - hard techno will always top my playlist. Breaks are always good value and an integral part of my current music world.
It must be said however, that despite varying preferences over the years, nothing will ever rank higher than my one true love......
Acid
Maybe one day it will even save my soul.....
Music has the unique ability to allow us to remove all barriers between ourselves and the universe. It allows the soul to comprehend the mathematics of creation.....
I finally have a music page....
Nexus-808
....
I own a Darwin Python.... Her name is Kassandra
You may have noticed i draw things.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Alien life forms. People with strong opinions (not necessarily the same as mine - I love spirited discussion, feel free to bring up random topics even if your belief system is in complete opposition to me).
Anyone who understands why it is necessary to own a track on vinyl even if you already have it on cd already (or any other format). Analogue enthusiasts.
Anyone who also sometimes takes days to get one note just right and then completely changes it by the end of the track anyway.

People who can remember the early nineties similar to the way i do.... When every trip to the record store was a discovery mission.... New sounds.... New ways of putting them together.... Maybe i was just young and without true responsibility, however between 91 and 96 the music had a certain optimistic innocence. Every night was an adventure.... Owning certain tracks on vinyl was a big thing as there was none of this instant downloading off the internet.... Hardly anyone who wasn't involved in the rave scene understood what you were talking about when you told them about the weekend... Which gave it a slightly mysterious feel... How did you explain the feeling you got when you heard Origin Unknown - Valley of the Shadows for the first time..... To someone who has never been out.....? Or even heard of "rave music"....

Even now, there are very few people who understand exactly how i felt when i finally got my hands on Dread - Quantum Leap...

So my second x0xb0x is number 606.... Not quite a truly evil number, so it shall be my angelfish.... Besides, historically the 606 did complement the 303 nicely :) Some devilfishesque m...

Obsessive Compulsive Synth Acquisition
