About Me

My name is Elizabeth Roth and I am a solo artist (guitarist/vocalist) based in Saint Augustine, Florida. I am also a member of The Grapes of Roth, a four piece classic rock band, also of Saint Augustine.Until I move some of it here, most bio information can be found at my website: www.elizabethroth.com(This band has alternately been referred to as "the Elizabeth Roth Band" and also as "Elizabeth and The Grapes of Roth". This is just to confuse you people! Just kidding, but we do now have a myspace page! Check it out! www.myspace.com/thegrapesofroth And please bear with me as - I am finally learning how to edit myspace and just getting around to posting show dates. Slowly but surely. Please know that all band dates are being posted by Matt over on the Grapes of Roth page, and band dates as well as solo dates are also listed at my regular website: www.elizabethroth.com

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.elizabethroth.com
Band Members: Elizabeth Roth, solo guitar and vocals. And the band - The Grapes of Roth: Matt Van Rysdam, electric guitar and vocals. Russ Lintz, bass guitar and vocals. Chris Spindler, drums. Elizabeth Roth, guitar and lead vocals.
Influences: I like a lot of music. I pretty much like all rock and roll, some of the folk singer songwriter stuff, some oldies, and classical music. Majored in classical guitar in college. I still love the Beatles, Zeppelin, Heart, Queen, Billy Joel, Yes, Journey, Van Halen, Cat Stevens, Styx, Joni Mitchell, Beethoven, Dvorak, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, guess I could go on and on here ...
Sounds Like: Myself, I hope? Although I'm always flattered by comparisons, and people over the years have compared me most often to Alanis, Phoebe Snow, Janis, Anne Murray, Rickie Lee Jones, Carly Simon, and Joni Mitchell ... as if any of those people sound anything alike! I can't hear any Janis in my voice at all. People do say it but I really just think they see a girl with long hair singing and think of her. People have told me I sound like Joan Baez too, come to think of it. That's definitely the girl with the guitar thing, I sound nothing like Baez. I can understand the Anne Murray/Carly Simon comparison, just because I have a smooth alto voice a lot of times ... but I definitely try to belt it out and rock a little whenever I can manage it!
