I have truly eclectic tastes. Why limit yourself? Ask me about anything and I'll likely find it interesting enough to talk about! Self-abuse in any form is not interesting to me. If you are crazy/dumb enough to hurt yourself on purpose, you'll only find a brick wall here. That goes for mind-altering substances and Jackass-style pleas for attention as well. Man, people; find something to do with yourself that won't look like ass when you get old!
I'd like to meet people who have some answers, but aren't arrogant enough to think they have *all* the answers. I'd also like to meet people who are genuine and love to talk about their favorite flavor of lip gloss every bit as much as talking about the meaning of life. Wait... I just thought of something. Perhaps the meaning of life is *lip gloss*.-edit- No. The meaning of life is handing the kids a better world than what was handed to you. Teach children to believe in themselves and not an invisible man in the sky. Teach children to know respect when they experience it and to give it in kind. Teach children the ability to see themselves and their actions objectively. Teach children that hurting others is the most selfish act imaginable. Teach children to eat healthy foods and portions. Teach children that the birds and the bees don't need protection, but they sure do! Teach (your) children the lyrics to your favorite songs and the meaning behind them. Above all, teach children that the vision of humanity found in Star Trek is possible, but it entails a bit more work; assessing each person as an individual.
80s. Not much into rap or country or glam metal. I'm into New Wave, Disco - when I can get away with it, Goth (80s), so-called "Modern Rock," 70s AM Gold, 70s Classic Rock and the rockers in the 80s who followed, Motown, Trance. Oh yeah - pssst... don't tell anyone, but I've been known to listen to Pop artists when no one's looking (Mel C kicked ass with Northern Star).
To list all my favorites would take a couple of pages or so. I'll just say a few words then. 8) I love a movie that makes you: Think. Cry. Laugh. Melt. Cheer. Hope. Shake a Fist.
ST: TOS, TNG, DS9, Stargate SG1, Takeshi's Castle, Quantum Leap, The Incredible Hulk, The New Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, I Dream of Jeannie, Will & Grace, Charlie Rose, The Discovery Channel - yes, all of it, Are You Being Served?, Red Dwarf, Blossom, The Kids In the Hall, Bizarre, Looney Tunes, Animaniacs, Batman (The 90s cartoon show), Freakazoid!, Amazing Stories, ...and to bring it full circle with Leonard Nimoy - In Search Of.
I like books for exactly the same reasons I like movies! Go figure. Currently reading A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin.
