I was a professional skateboarder back in the mid 70's to early 1980's. I skated pipes and pools (and some freestyle) and loved every minute of it. I traveled to about 30 or so skateparks across the USA and rode with the most awesome skaters around. I loved doing frontside grinds and inverts. My favorite helmet was a Jay Adams fly away from Kanoa Surf. My main sponsor was Sims - I rode a Brad Bowman model cut down for me with tracker trucks and Sims snakes. I also rode a Z-Flex and Alva board in the later years. Favorite park was Marina and Skateboard World (where I first started skateboarding in 1975) in CA. Otherwise Cherry Hill and Apple for indoor parks. The height of skating in the late 70's was THE best - when the parks started closing it was like the end of a great party. I really miss all the great skater friends that I have lost touch with.
I am now a Sports Stylist® - which means that I do wardrobe styling for print shoots (advertising, catalog and editorial) but only for athletes. I style for companies like Gatorade, Nike and VW and work with top athletes like Tiger Woods, Michelle Kwan, Kobe Bryant and Mia Hamm. I have the BEST career ever- I even get to work with skateboarders like Shaun White & Tony Hawk which means I have the perfect day working and skating - I couldn't ask for anything more.
