About Me

My birth name is Scott, and I also go by Sky. I was born on the 4th of July 1988, the year of the dragon. Some people call me Deep Space.. I started out playing some riffs by ear on a Strat that I bought from a buddy in high school, and also did lead vocals and rhythm for a short lived punk band "Grilled Cheese Sandwich," and later played lead guitar in a metal band; "Disconnection." Now, in college, I've shifted gears a bit into songwriting as a means of expression and as exploration towards a sense of inner peace - and as a means to convey emotions, truths, and absurdity found in nature, talking to people, and in exploration of an all embracing spirituality and overall way of living with a foundation in Buddhism, and Taoism. .. I've been playing, singing and writing on acoustic guitar more than anything else for the past few years now, and I love the freedom and portability that unplugged and acapella music both offer. I am also writing for and solidifying a set list with the band "Totem," which will incorporate the ongoing solo project, select covers, and lots of new material for coffee shops, open mics, flea markets, parks, and anywhere else we can find in California to play live music. .. Music is the universally transformative vessel that's destroying the barriers between the self and the universe for anyone who listens, allowing the spirit to manifest fully in each and every moment. The main reason that I play and sing every day though is 'cuz I really dig that feeling of surprised wu wei that happens every once in awhile when a person can let the soul just flow out and be free without tryin' to block it or shape it into anything. .. Thanks for listening!
