For all of you that haven't seen me in awhile or you are a stalker trying to catch up on me (which I find amusing), my life has changed so much in the past year! I am so thankful for this life I have been given and even when things don't go exactly as I planned, I find the lesson God was trying to teach me and move forward with the things I have control over! I have learned in the past week alone how precious life is and to never take it for granted.
I got married in June of 2008 and my life feels complete! My husband is an amazing person and sometimes I wonder how "little ole' Jodi" got so blessed. Mike is my smarty pants =) He graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis with an Aeronautical Engineering degree and top 10% in his class (he must have got it from his parents, they are both doctors =). He is currently stationed out of Lemoore, Ca, where he is an officer and instructor pilot for the F/A-18's. He has been deployed to Iraq twice now, once in 2003 (where he bombed in F-14, Tomcats, over Iraq and was stationed on the USS George Washington) and in 2007 (where he assisted a Seal team on the ground). He is truly my hero! We will be in the Hanford area for the next 4 years at least, because of all his time dedicated to helping overseas. We will be moving to either Virginia Beach or Japan next and I am really excited for either! I have really found my strength through my husband.
My husband has sent me back to school to accomplish what I always wanted to do Veterinary Medicine. For any one that knew me or still does, all I ever wanted to do was go back and finally finish school. Well, my wish has finally been granted! I am finishing my degree and moving on to apply for med school. When I am finished, not only will I have Veterinary under my belt but a licensed horse trainer. I am really excited and I still have a 4.0! Whoot Whoot for me =)
My life was complete the day I married my husband but to fulfill it even more he gave me the biggest gift of all... my Thoroughbred, Super Image (Superman). I had a mare named Naughty Natalia that Mike Originally got me but she is now in training at Sport Equine in Clovis, Ca, with Debbie Davis. I got Superman from Debbie and what a guy! He is the love of my life and has stolen my heart (besides my husband of course=). He is so patient and loves to just hang out. We are working at retraining him as a hunter and I will post pictures of him soon! Keep posted because this is one cool horse!
My husband and I bought our first home here in Hanford in February of this year and it is amazing. I really never saw myself in a place like this and so quickly! It is a 4 bedroom/ 3 full bath beauty over 2,000 SF! It is already custom painted inside and my husband even let me go crazy and buy new furniture and decorate. One of our spare rooms, he even turned into a gym! I love my new house and I am so proud of it!
I also finally got the dogs I always wanted! Of course I still have my little Zero man, but I got my two Great Danes! One of them is a pain in my butt and I think rides the "short bus" but my other one is amazing! Their names are Addie and Calli (Atticus and Calpurnia, from to Kill a Mocking Bird). Every free moment we have we try and spend with them. They are gorgeous animals and we are always stopped and complimented, which makes me feel so good. For the most part, they are really well behaved too, they have got their commands down well! Callie is a pet therapy dog in nursing homes and loves it.
I have learned a lot this year about myself and letting go of an awful past ( I am sure not as bad as some) where all that happened was getting taken advantage of, being hurt, and consistently let down. God has taught me when one door closes another one opens, even when it comes to employment and economic recessions. I think the difficult trials and tests God ran me through finally subsided and I have finally made it to the light at the end of the tunnel, and MAN, it looks good from this point of view! I hope you got to learn a little more about me or catch up at least. I hope every one is doing well and the New Year treats you right! I am looking forward to 2009 and I hope you all are too!
Xo,
Jodi
P.S.: Wanna know what I find so amusing? After looking back on the past year and all the hurt I went through with certain people I thought were friends and those that at one point in my life, meant so much to me then started talking down on me or saying hurtful things that crushed me at the time... I no longer have to say anything at all or try to defend myself! My wonderful and successful life speaks for it's self. All those that were so negative to me are still lonely, sad, and pathetic individuals with nothing to their name. I hope some day they can feel what it's like to have your life and priorities in order and know what it's like to truly be loved. Till then... the view looking down on you looks GREAT from where I am sitting! Maybe someday I will see you at the top! Ha Ha! Those that are no longer in your life were meant to be let go for a reason... I have found my reason =) PEACE!
