JWW and the Prospectors

Western Swing, Texas Style

About Me

JWW & the Prospectors were formed in mid-2007 by six seasoned Austin musicians whose prior individual musical experiences had led to gigs throughout central Texas and tours of the United States and Europe. The band was brought together by a shared passion for the great honky-tonk and western swing music of the mid-20th century South and Southwest, including artists such as the Maddox Brothers and Rose, Milton Brown, Floyd Tillman, Hank Thompson, Hank Williams and, of course, Bob Wills. While some of their peers dabble in music from this period, the Prospectors uniquely capture the raucous energy of the great bands of the past that had to keep field hands and roughnecks happy and dancing till the cows came home. While they have received accolades from their fellow musicians for their instrumental virtuosity and the caliber of their songwriting, it is their sheer joy of entertaining an audience that makes JWW & the Prospectors a band not to be missed...This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor .. -- HTML Codes by Quackit.com -- ..
