About Me

Do tell me, how should I begin? well, I suppose I should tell you what to call me. This poses a problem though, already, since you can call me so many things.

Call me a musician-I love music. I listen to a lot of rock music, mostly from the 60's/70's era. You know, things like The Stooges or The Kinks and Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan. Actually, you probably don't because most people listen to most of the music that comes out today-the stuff that I find boring, depressing, and repetitive. Of course, there are a few exceptions-I love The White Stripes, The Gorillaz, and most anything original out today, like Modest Mouse, Billy Talent, or Velvet Revolver. As long as it's not gangster rap or screamo, I suppose. I know what you're asking yourself. "Musicians not only listen to music, but play music as well! Does this mean that you play music, Chris?" You are very right, my friend. I play guitar, bass, I sing, and I can play a bit of piano and drums. I write my own music, and I put it on my myspace, The Rebels. Tell me what you think, and I'm always interested in meeting fellow musicians.

Call me a gamer-I've wasted countless hours in front of my TV screen playing my videogames. I'm very partial to Nintendo, but the PS2 was a damn good system. The only next gen system I own is the Wii right now, and I'm waiting on some games like Civilization and Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm into all kinds of games, but mostly RPG's and Strategies, along with the occasional action game like God of War. Plus, I can beat your as in any Smash Bros. Game. Bring it.

Call me a writer-I love to write. I write poems, sometimes short stories, and sometimes I draw little comics in a notebook that I keep in my dresser drawer. I read a lot as well. Satirical works are great, but I love philosophical books as well. One of my favorites is Notes from Underground by Fyodor Dosteovsky. I probably spelled that wrong. Ask me to read something of mine, if you'd like. I'll be glad to hear from you.

Call me a philosopher, if you can. I think a lot about life in my free time, though I find my time being evermore less free thse days. I do a lot of thinking (or at least I like to think that I do a lot of thinking) and I've found that I have very few firm beliefs except for the belief that we really can't know anything-the best we can know is all the questions. Do you understand? Well, even with that belief, I love to think about life's questions. Talk to me about them sometime. You might be surprised.

Call me a romantic. I'm on a constant search for beauty, and love, in all forms. It's taken me to many stange places-back alleys, treetops, people's basements. I'll keep searching until I'm satisfied, but I don't think that that will ever happen.

Most of all, though, call me Chris.
