Strange things are afoot at the Circle K...

About Me

If I were a muppet, I'd be a cross between Ralph the Dog and Fozie. I wish I was more Ralph, but the dork gene is dominant in my family. However, I'm more a Laverne than a Shirley. Still, I'm way more Mary Richards than Rhoda Morgenstern.

My Interests

Red Sox, Family ( I should probably put that before the Red Sox... but I was just watching the game), Patriots, Marine Biology, Hating the Yankees, Art, History, Pop Culture.

Music:

Lupe Fiasco, Damien Rice, Prince, Neil Diamond (I'm very serious), David Gray, Gnarlsbarkly (Chewbacca on drums.... 'nough said), Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone, Buddy Holly, Kanye West, Cake, Herb Alpert, Jay-Z, Otis Redding, Paul Simon, Lauren Hill, Jonathan Richmond, the White Stripes, Wilco, Rhett Miller, Patsy Cline... well I'll pretty much sing along to anything at the grocery store.

Movies:

Indiana Jones, Pulp Fiction, Singing in the Rain, The Untouchables, Philadelphia Story, Spiderman, Princess Bride, Star Wars Trilogy (old school), The Jerk, Closer, Bringing up Baby, The Producers (original), Goodwill Hunting, Blazing Saddles... too many to mention....

Television:

Scubs and ER. I'm not a doctor, but I watch them on tv. Ohh, and The Office.Bring back Clone High!!!

How many weather related hits from the 60's can one girl take?

This week is April vacation for both my daughter and myself. It's rained steady here since Sunday. We hadn't planned any trips, so it's just been the two of us cooped up for four days& man has it been...

First day...

I put her on a bus today and she was great.  She's the most confident and yet  concerned for others' person I've ever met (that was an awkward phrase, but I guess you knew what I ment). ...

May the force be with her...

Over the last two weeks, I've had the immense pleasure of introducing my daughter to the original Star Wars trilogy.  Is it wrong that I found it to be the perfect propaganda tool for instilling ...

Things I learned in or on my way to/from DE.

I love the state of Delaware.  It is the second best state in the Union and that isn't just because it is the starting point for the 2 best/worst state related jokes in history  (what did De...

Attn. Theo Epstein

I think my 5 year old is next in line to be the youngest GM in MLB.  During the 17th inning of today's 19 inning game, she stopped and mused.... "You know what the Red Sox need?  A cheetah, ...

Totally biting Judy Brady.

I am a great husband. Today, I rushed home from work to mow the lawn.  It's going to rain for the next 3 days and therefore the lawn must be mowed, now.  I was out there, laying down perfect...

"We need to start arresting Eskimos, immediately"

This is a quote from my (almost) five year old.  It was random, but has been stewing for a while.  It's not that she is part of some anti-inuit movement.  Personally, I blame the Disney...
