About Me

This is a fan page!!! This bio is from the Washington Post. Enjoy!Three Levels of Genius is Washington DC's longstanding premiere Hip-Hop band. Since its conception in 1991, 3LG has been at the forefront of developing the underground music scene in the Washington Metropolitan Area. This is largely due to their unparalleled blend of diverse, top-quality vocalists and skilled musicians delivering tight grooves ranging from funk to go-go to jazz, acid-jazz and of course Hip-Hop. This nine-year commitment to their music has earned 3LG the respect of fans throughout the northeast corridor. This respect has earned 3LG the opportunity to perform with the best artists Hip-Hop has to offer, such as:Run DMC A Tribe Called Quest KRS One De La Soul Wu-Tang Clan The Roots Though they are certainly a Hip-Hop band, the input from six very unique musical minds, produce a sound that often reverberates beyond conventional Hip-Hop listeners. Landing them performances with legends like Bernie Worrell (P-Funk) and Buckshot LeFonque, to Nancy Wilson, Martin, Medeski and Wood, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Groove Collective. In any venue, 3LG has proven that they can rock a variety of styles that appeal to the masses. With the respect of their peers and support from their fans, 3LG was voted "Best Hip-Hop Group/Duo" by the Washington Area Music Association on four occasions ('95, '97, '98, '99). 3LG has also lent their talent and support to various organizations such as The Bell Multicultural Center (DC), and Washington Performing Arts Society. All these accomplishments are a testament to 3LG's impressive sonic experience. The combination of rhymes, music, and art guarantee listening pleasure to all who love not only Hip-Hop, but other forms of music as well.
