About Me

Coal Chamber
Dez released a total of 5 albums with Coal Chamber. Three of the albums, Coal Chamber (1997), which went gold, Chamber Music (1999), and Dark Days (2002), consisted of new material. An album of remixes, rarities, and b-sides, titled Giving the Devil His Due (2003) and a "Best Of" (2004) were also released. Coal Chamber disbanded in 2003, shortly after Dez formed his current band DevilDriver.Dez refuses to talk about his earlier years with Coal Chamber and the subject of their break up is highly disputed among fans of both Coal Chamber and DevilDriver. Everyone could only seem to agree on the fact that the break up was messy, caused in part by heavy drug use by the other members which led to serious arguments between bandmates.
Biography The group was started by Dez Fafara and Evan Pitts. Evan saw Dez one morning in a diner in California. The rest of the members were recruited over time. Dez Fafara is the former frontman of the band Coal Chamber, who broke up prior to his term in Devildriver, as a result of frustrations over heavy drug use between various members of the band. After the demise of Coal Chamber, DevilDriver became his main focus. Their debut album, the self-titled DevilDriver, was released on October 23, 2003 under Roadrunner Records. Dez wanted to focus more on the extreme side of music, influenced by black, death, and thrash metal. This is more apparent on their second album, The Fury of Our Maker's Hand, where one can hear traces of Scandinavian death metal, specifically with the guitar work.Their second album, The Fury of Our Maker's Hand, was released in 2005 and was generally well-received by fans and critics alike, even garnering a 4K review from rock magazine Kerrang.[1]The band went on numerous tours in support of the album, including stops in the United States, Europe, and Australia in support of bands such as In Flames, Fear Factory, and Machine Head, as well as the Burning Daylight Tour, their first headlining. On October 31, 2006, DevilDriver re-released The Fury of Our Maker's Hand with three additional studio tracks and three live recordings of previously released material. The special edition also contains a DVD of all of their music videos to date.Recently, DevilDriver wrapped up the recording sessions for their third album (which was released June 16 and June 19, 2007 in Austalira and the United Kingdom respectively, and ia set to be released on July 31 in the United States), entitled The Last Kind Words, at Sonic Ranch studios outside El Paso, Texas and promoted it by playing at the British rock festival Download Festival at Donington alongside headliners Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, and My Chemical Romance."Horn of Betrayal" was debuted from The Last Kinds Words. It was played on May 16th on Sirius Satellite's Hard Attack channel. The entire completed album leaked onto the internet in mid June, 2007.

after the disbandment of Coal Chamber, Fafara chose to continue as vocalist of metal band DevilDriver, recording two albums to date, and one album to be released July 31 2007.

Guitarist Meegs Rascon, went on to form rock band "Glass Pinata", previously known as just “Pinata”, the group has so far only released demos via their website.

Drummer Mikey "Bug" Cox went on to form Alternative metal band "Butterfly Knife" with friend and singer Dev. Songs are available to hear through their MySpace page.

Bassist Nadja Puelen created Cruel Tees, a t-shirt company that sold online and through stores such as Hot Topic.

Bassist Rayna Foss-Rose
played with the band on their first two albums and toured in support. Shortly after their first album was released the band toured with Sevendust and she began a romantic relationship with Sevendust's drummer Morgan Rose.
The two got along surprisingly well and began dating. Within a year they were married. Rayna's departure was received bitterly by the band's singer Dez Fafara. He was extremely bitter in interviews and went out of his way to verbally abuse Rayna and her husband.
This led to an intense hatred from Morgan Rose. Rose's distaste for Fafara is ..ed in 'Enemy', the lead-single from Sevendust's 2003 album, A couple years later, Rayna and Morgan divorced.
