I like my life. I live with my youngest daughter so we have the place to ourselves. I like owning my own home and paying for it myself. I put a lot of my energy into making it a place that I feel good in. It is my sanctuary. My job is pretty challenging, mostly because of the restrictiveness and the workload. I like that I don't have to commute. I am working at a Visual Communications program and over the next 5 years I plan on getting out of the 9-5 and doing some web developement as well as graphic design work. I like to hang out with my kids and be with my friends and family. I like to date different types of people in hopes that someday I will meet someone who is on the same page as me. Probably won't get married again though unless I hook up with someone as cool as I am. lol. I don't think I am ready for that quite yet, so just having fun at this point. I like to go places and try new things, try new foods, love the ones I love, and kick back at my house. My kids come first, then everything else. I think I am good at setting priorities and that is what keeps my busy life from being kaotic. I couldn't ask for more at this point.

Love the live metal music and most hip-hop, rap, rhythm & blues, and even country when I'm in the mood. The only type of music I am not into is the jazz. I find it impassive, or perhaps I just haven't aquired a taste for it yet. Of course I love classic rock but get tired of hearing the same ol' so I mostly prefer to hear live, original music. Among my favs, Lavish Green, PUSH, Spiral Arms, Elf Farm Raffle, Evergreen, really any band who can rock, has some stage presence, and some lyrics that I can relate to.
This is cool...

I love all kinds of movies except bloody, sawing, stabbing, chopping, killing ones.
All-time favorite:
This movie rocks! I've watched it dozens of times. My favorite scene is the parade scene. I love that song too and all of the music in the movie is cool. It totally embodies all aspects of woman. Everyone should see it.
I recently saw Sweeney Todd and loved it. Reminded me of going to the opera when I was a kid. Normally I don't like violent or horror type movies but this was different.
This move is so damn cool
I watch a little TV at night during the week. I'm not into any particular shows; little of this, little of that. I guess I'm mostly a surfer, changing the channel at each commercial. I do watch prison break faithfully. (Monday night...lol...go figure!)

I will pick up anything that has print. I usually end up with magazines or catalogs though, only because I don't get a lot of time to sit with a long book. That's part of the reason I like poetry. A few spare minutes can be meaningful! Right now I have 3 books on my nightstand waiting to be finished: Woman on the edge of time, Symposia: readings in philosophy, and Smashed. I like to write as well but don't share much since my writing tends to be pretty personal. If I start reading a book it sits for a while before I get time to pick it up again. I used to read a lot more when my daughters were young and I worked less. I saved all of my books from college because I loved them so much. Except the math books, I saved them in case I ever need to know how to do something, not because I loved them! I know when I get settled down some day I will pick up reading more again.

Think about this...
My daughters, my sisters, my mother and myself. People of all kinds who enter into our world with issues and challenges that make life harder for them than others and yet make it through each day, many times sporting a smile and helping others. Women who've strengthened their souls, thickened their skins, become strong enough to make it in a man's world, learned to let it roll off, and still remained the sweethearts they were born to be. THAT is quite a balancing act.
“This bisexual symbol is a double moon that is formed when the sex-specific attributes of the astrological symbol of Mars & Venus (representing heterosexual union) are reduced to the two circles open on both ends, thus symbolizing that bisexuals are open to either-sex unions.â€
Ain’t it pretty?
The colours are of course based on the bisexual flag colours:
The pink represents homosexuality, the blue heterosexuality, and the purple in the middle is the cross between the two.
PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou...
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
they think I'm telling lies.
I say,
it's in the reach of my arms,
the span of my hips,
the stride of my step,
the curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
just as cool as you please,
and to a man,
the fellows stand or
fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
a hive of honey bees.
I say,
it's the fire in my eyes,
and the flash of my teeth,
the swing in my waist,
and the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
what they see in me.
They try so much
but they can't touch
my inner mystery.
When I try to show them
they say they still can't see.
I say,
It's the arch of my back,
the sun of my smile,
the ride of my breasts,
the grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
it ought to make you proud.
I say,
it's in the click of my heels,
the bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
the need of my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I hope writings like this will empower women. Enjoy who you are. Be satisfied with your body when you have taken good care of it. Be proud of your mind, creativity, and don't be afraid to think for yourself. Don't listen to those f*ck*rs. You know more than they do.

A Little Rain
Danced like an angel in lieu of the now.
Shined like a star that's touched the ground.
Sweet like a spoken, unbroken vow.
No pain or rain could stop her now.
A sweet little girl unlike the rest.
With a children's song beneath her breath,
she told me...
Sometimes you stand.
Sometimes you fall.
and sometimes a little rain's nothing at all.
That's what she said to change my world
while she never spoke a single word.
She never sang.
It seemed she did.
She smiled like a kid.
I realized what I'd never see
while she sang that song beneath her breath.
So silently she said to me.
Life is life and death is death.
With desire hid amid her eyes,
a choir filled her hidden cries.
She said like heaven were her skies,
All the rain's for you and I.
"Dance with me,"
she said again
"dance while all the night is left.
Dance before the water ends"
with a children's song beneath her breath.
So late at night, the morning sun
was just below the horizon.
Her salted tears to come undone
with a rain to soak her eyes in.
The salted rain but still a girl's.
Far beyond so bittersweet.
Within a rain, all the world's
the playground at her feet.
I've never seen
the rain that way.
That's what I must confess.
Not till I heard a children's song
far beneath her bitter breath.
We danced and danced
until the rain-
until the rain had nothing left.
She said "no shoes"
but I refused,
again I must confess.
But truthfully she would've danced
and ruined her favorite dress,
because the rain and all the pain
make a life that's less bereft.
That's not what she said
but that's what I heard
with a song beneath her breath.
So I listened to her every word
until the night had nothing left.
Every day we're in the rain
even if it never falls.
We should live and live again
if we're to live at all.
We should live our every day
until the days have nothing left.
And while she sang a children's song
beneath her lovely breath,
she told me...
Sometimes you stand.
Sometimes you fall.
Sometimes you have to crawl.
Sometimes you need.
Sometimes you bleed.
Sometimes you have it all.
And she said to me,
repeatedly,
without a word at'all,
words that I would keep within.
The words that I'd recall.
She said...
Sometimes a little rain is nothing at all
Cycles
written by Andrew Saman
What has been started
Must be finished
Like life everything
Must come to an end
So I won't fear
My time of departure
For I am here now
And I won't fret
Over the seconds I have left
For I am here now
So bring forth
The beast of life
And let me frustrate him
With my unwavering stance
For I am here now
And bring forth
The fruit of life
And let me devour her
With my unfilling stomach
For I am here now
Let nothing come as a surprise
For I expect nothing
Except what I ask of myself
And these things I ask of myself
Will be woven into my soul
R.I.P. Tyler. We have always loved you.
