This dynamic entertainer has been seen on CMT, GAC, A&E, BET, and ABC on the CMA awards and isn't slowing down anytime soon. Since recently moving to Nashville from Holt, MI she has been featured in music videos, commercials, voiceovers, written and produced shows, and emcee'd for some of the biggest acts in the music industry. Her varied experiences in the entertainment world have shaped the expansive talents she now shares with Nashville.
After studying Musical Theatre and later getting her BA in Theatre Performance, Monica began her professional career at the Double JJ Ranch and Golf Resort in Rothbury, MI. Here she was trained and performed in stunt shows and slowly realized the jumping off 30ft. buildings, while exciting, was not something she wanted to do long-term. She also had leads in Children's Theatre, Improvisation and sketch comedy shows, Singing and Dancing Variety shows, and even trained and rode a bull while performing. For two years, she played Janet Weiss in the Rocky Horror Show. In 2005 she became the Entertainment Supervisor at the resort and worked there for two more years before moving to Nashville. In December 2007, one month after moving to Nashville with nothing but an air mattress and a suitcase, she began working as a Line Dance Instructor/Entertainer at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon with her first official day emceeing for country superstar Craig Morgan. In May 2008 her career began to take off after being a feautred dancer in the Alan Jackson music video "Good Time". Soon afterwards she signed with The Block Agency and went on to be in the Billy Currington Video "Don't" and played an abused wife in the gospel group Image's "One More Sunny Day" music video. In August 2008 she assisted in the videography and directing of the John Karl video "Redneck Rich, Hillbilly Happy" as well as choreographing the line dance. She has also been in law commercials and emcee'd for events such as the Bret Michael's After-Show Party. Living in Nashville less than a year, she recently performed for Alan Jackson at the CMA awards and will soon be seen teaching a line dance to Gene Simmons on his reality show "Family Jewels" on A&E.After writing and producing the Halloween show "Ghoul's Night Out" at the Wildhorse, she ventured into creating her own Entertainment company to offer her skills and abilities to others. You can check it out and book entertainment at www.MonicaOrtegaEntertainment.com In April, Monica competed, and was a finalist in the Wildhorse singing competition "Sing to Win". Currently, she is producing and perfoming in the Saloon Variety Show and Gunfighting show Appapaloosa at A Cowboy Town in White's Creek.
