Hi world!!! (lol) My name is Maya! (pronounced My-a) ...Gosh, where do I start?!!! ...Well, first & foremost I LOVE GOD!!! ...and acknowledge I would be nothing without Him! Christ is my EVERYTHING! ...my source, my heartbeat, my sunshine, my lifeline, my song, the reason for my smile!!! ...Although my name has about 20 meanings (it's international, like me!) the one I gravitate to the most is 'Close to God' coz that's where I ALWAYS wanna be!!! For time people have called me 'Fire Maya' too!!! Nuff said, lol .............Professionally I'm a freelance Journalist/Editor - including for GOSPEL LINK magazine (make sure you subscribe!), www.UnitedbyONE.co.uk and an Associate Editor for youth magazine, VOT, in which I also head up the Music & Entertainment section... I have also contributed music column for The Voice & New Nation ...I also do PR plus Media Consultancy, A&R and am involved in Events (GL Live & Unashamed to name a few) ...I also work with a ministry called Restoration & present/produce an Urban Gospel radio show .....There’s not enough room to encapsulate all that I do, so you’ll just have to watch this space! ................It's probably evident I'm a creative/ideas person (also very expressive as you can tell from this profile, lol!) ........Music is CORE in my life... yeah I can say it was my first love (but you know who my TRUE love is right?!) .........I'm also a Singer (my Gospel choir recorded a live album in 2007!!!), Worship Leader, Poet, Songwriter ...I've also been positioned as a speaker, and it's an honour to impart truth and empowerment to people (namely youth) ....PHEW! (hey, to whom much is given!) ....What?! I'm just shining the SONlight! ......This Remnant sent as a messenger so I gotta do my thang for THE KING! ........What else? I'm known as Passionate, Fun-loving, Soulful & Dynamic ...in a nutshell, Multi-Talented! (God has blessed meeee!!!) ..........5 words my friends would use to describe me would be Loving (if I could get paid for my hugs I'd be a billionaire, lol!), Funny, Deep, Honest & Bubbly.... and I'm also known as very cheeky (cha-ching!)...... Oh yeah and 'The Cultural Reference Queen' too, lol! ..............I love my peeps, singing (it gives me so much joy!), laughter, dancing (I'm master of the electric slide! Lol) & enjoying this gift called LIFE!!! ............We all know it aint easy but this road less travelled is a journey for those who make it to the end! .....(don't allow the haters & accusers to be a negative force, see it as a compliment coz it's an indication you're anointed!!!) .........I dare to be different! I've always known that I am unique & have learnt to celebrate it! (Yeh yeyah!) I've been described as out the box and my response is AMEN!, so don't try put me in one! I'm also known to be crazy but hey its cool, and as the song goes "we aint never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy" Lol! ........I love encouraging people to reach their full potential .....Finding, knowing & walking in purpose & true identity is soooo vital in life!!!....I'm honoured to be an instrument of God in any way...............
