Adventure Quest is a fun and strangely addictive online RPG in the classic attack/item/spell style. It's in a fantasy anime world so you can pick your class, have pets, and get different kinds of gear as well as change alignment through choices you make. The fun part is it doesn't take itself seriously and there are plenty of jokes. While it's mostly forests and fantasy monsters, my favorite quest was in a dream where your companion dreams up mountains of ice cream and flying piranhas.

Pirates Online is Disney's free MMORPG on POTC. It's pretty fun to make your own pirate, and is my only way of reliving it now that the movies are over.

Playing Bard's Tale is a must for anyone who's ever played a fantasy RPG and would love a snarky little parody of all those classic video games, except focusing just on the coins, cleavage, and music (and summoning cool creatures!)

I tested MLB08: The Show for Sony on PS3. It is the awesomest ever.

One of my friends at work told me about a free MMORPG called Rappelz. It is pretty fun and the community is pretty big but not so huge that it collects too many weirdos. The game play so far is fun and the best part? Instant mounts!

In preparation for being a tester at Sony, I played a few games on a PS2. God of War II was one of them. It was pretty fun, an action game with some blood since your protagonist Kratos slices people up pretty good. He jumps high and is strong, a couple puzzles but not as much thinking or acrobatics involved as something like Prince of Persia -- just straightforward mythological gore.

Everyone wanted to play Bioshock, so I fell to curiosity and peer pressure to start playing this game. I've never played a first person shooter or a horror survival game, so this game is pretty darn creepy to me. It's 1960 and you get stuck in an underwater dystopian city named Rapture with tons of 1940s style propaganda, people attack you that have gone crazy from using too many plasmids (which you actually get to start using... yay), and then there are creepy little girls and machine guardians that wander around killing everything. I finished the game, it went quick after I got the hang of it -- great story that unfolds, graphics, sound. Really fun.

Gunslinger Girl is about a counter terrorist military group in Italy that uses traumatized little girls to be paired off with normal human adult agents, and brainwashes them to have no emotions except love and loyalty to their partner and to follow orders. It has really great animation with very rapid-flying bullets for the action scenes and the landscapes of Rome, Sicily, and Florence. It is also very depressing. It is kind of sad that because the little girls were traumatized, the military group picked them to become child soldiers. It is also depressing because whereas some agents use the little girls as mere mechanized tools for missions and do not treat the little girls with any respect as human beings, while the little girls just want to be appreciated and loved.

Death Note is pretty different from other animes, as none of the main characters are really "good". It begins with my favorite character, Ryuk, a death god who leaves his notebook of death in the human realm, where a high school student named Light picks it up and decides to rid the world of evil and rule as god of a new world order. The notebook has rules described in it, and Light follows them, killing criminals by writing their names in the book. Eventually the FBI, Japanese police forces, and a special secret agent by the name of "L" become involved to try to take down this mysterious serial killer.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Fruits Basket and finally watched it. It is pretty funny and cute, and I really like it. Our protagonist is the optimistic Tohru, who persists in going to school despite the recent death of her single widow mother in a car accident and her lack of a house. So she lives in a tent in the forest and doesn’t want anyone to know. However, she soon discovers that her tent in the forest is actually on someone’s family property… She is allowed to stay in their house in exchange for doing their housework. Then she discovers that this family has a secret, that the members of the family are cursed to be possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac…

Wallflower, also known as Perfect Girl Evolution or Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge. It is about four young, popular and good-looking guys who all have a certain type to them (the cute one, the playboy, the refined studious one, the rebel) who are challenged by their landlady to turn her niece into a proper lady – if they succeed, they can stay in her mansion rent free, but if they fail, their rent triples. It turns out, though, that this niece is a very frightening Gothic girl with violent tendencies and extremely low self esteem who finds more social comfort in anatomy models and skulls than the company of good-looking popular people.

THIS is what got me to start playing Psychonauts. Watch it. You'll want to play too.In Psychonauts, the player controls Raz (short for Razputin), a mysterious new arrival at a training camp for Psychonauts — elite special agents who use their psychic powers to combat psycho-terrorism and retrieve information from inside people's minds. After honing his own mental abilities, Raz discovers a nasty plot just where he thought he would be safe... [More here ]

Stardust has some pretty fun/funny flash games on their site. I loved the movie, and the music, and everything. So a few of the games I think are fun: Crossing the wall - you are the old man guard and get to hit young men with a stick who try to cross over to Stormhold. Push that prince - you are one of the princes and have to murder a brother so that maybe you can become king. Lightning catcher - this one reminds me of the pod racing in KOTOR, and you have to catch enough lightning to please the captain. I don't normally play flash games so I don't know how they compare to others but these are pretty fun.

Fushigi Yuugi. A really pretty fantasy about a couple middle school girls in Tokyo who get sucked into a book and end up in feudal China, this anime centers on the ideas of friendship, love, loyalty, and responsibility.

Ayashi No Ceres, or Ceres: Celestial Legend is a surprisingly good anime, and nice and short too at just 20-some eps. The anime is made by Yuu Watase, the same creater of Fushigi Yugi, and so you could probably guess it's pretty darn cool and also pretty good for the female audience. After sifting through some anime that focuses a little too much on fan service (anime girls with bouncing boobs and shiny butts) this is really cool and refreshing.

Outlaw Star runs the exploits of Gene Starwind, a sexy badass badass fighter who can shoot shit up and slash apart cyborgs with knives or blow up tao casters, has a cool car, and grabs women's asses. So Gene and this boy hacker have a business set up where they can be hired to do a little bit of everything, from obtaining parts to mercenary or bodyguard work. Then there's the main plot which is... treasure hunting! Action-packed, funny, and well put-together, this classic space opera should definitely not be missed.

Record of Lodoss War is one of the first RPG-based animes created, shortly after TSR released D&D to Japan. There are quests, spells, and an adventuring party. Definitely a must see for any fantasy fans.

I've loved playing assassins or thieves in games, but I have never actually played a stealth game. Thief 3: Deadly Shadows is the third in this series of stealth-based games, where you are Garrett, the protagonist and master thief. You are sent on missions by your fence but can also explore the city on your own. The goal is to steal things and not kill people, so you have equipment like water arrows to make more shadows by putting out torches or chandeliers, a blackjack to knock people out (and afterwards you can drag their bodies into a more out-of-the-way location), or noisemaker arrows to divert the attention of guards. While you're on a mission you can pick locks, pickpocket or mug people, scale walls, stack boxes to help yourself climb, or throw them on top of rats and see a bloody mess. The stealthing, though, is pretty neat as you can press up against walls, crouch in the shadows, or follow right behind someone out of their line of vision. The AI is pretty good, graphics are pretty good, and from what I've seen so far, the game is pretty solid (if a little scary).

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It's Pirates. You get to play Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swan. You're a pirate, and besides the swashbuckling and using the environment to get your enemies, there's also some pirate poker and pirate dice to be played. But best of all, you get to BE Jack Sparrow! There are some places from the movies that you get to play in, and also a few cool characters and other unlockables throughout the levels. It's a pretty easy game, and if you are a Pirates fan, it's definitely worth it!

I finished Jade Empire. It's ancient China with demons, ghosts, and martial arts. You're a monk and get to do a bunch of different martial arts forms, which makes it fun and interesting. They layout reminds me a lot of Kotor (it *is* bioware after all), and I'd say it's an action RPG. You don't really mess with gear, it's pretty linear (but with some side quests), you get a bunch of followers but can only take around one at a time, there are a couple romances, and you can choose between two philosophies: open palm (helping people out all the time) or closed fist (not helping people out so they can become stronger themselves).

I liked playing Gothic 3. I have never played any of the others in the Gothic series. It took a while to get into this game, but if you like RPG's and have a beautifully high-end computer, this game has a huge world composed of more than 23 cities with tons of quests in each one, 3 cool environments of temperate rainforest, desert, and snow, a non-linear and open-ended storyline, and your character is non-class based, meaning you can make him whatever you like as you level.

I would love to play Mass Effect . This rpg has the best graphics I have ever seen. A lot of games can only afford to put out the good graphics for cut scenes, but this game is like a cut scene the whole way through. A game that pays attention to the slightest details like what your reflection looks like in someone else's eyes just amazes me. I like that you can explore different planets and interact with people in a variety of ways, but mostly I just like how it looks, honestly.

I really want to play Assassin's Creed . This game is unique in that it has added crowds. You blend in by how you move and interact with people, can get to your mark by multiple paths, and have to really pay attention to the fighting (instead of other games where you can just click 'attack' until the enemy dies) because if you take a blow to the head, you die.

I rehashed my love for Oblivion. Now that it's been out for a while, people have been making some of the most awesome mods. I don't really feel like playing the whole game all over again, but it's so fun to just (well this sounds creepy now) *cough* live in the game. People have made such pretty houses, even new land masses, people to travel with, mounts, pets, and all sorts of things!

I went back to Neverwinter Nights, which is actually a really good game. The world is pretty big, and playing an evil person that kills everyone, sleeps with whores, and rescues prisoners to get their ransom and then murder everyone is fun.

Battle for Middle Earth II is an awesome Lord of the Rings strategy game.

Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark was a fun rpg with a good plot, companion NPC's, character creation, and all of that. It was very fun with a good ending and closure. It's been a few years since it's come out so the graphics aren't the most modern, but it was a lot of fun to play.

Neverwinter Nights 2 rocks. It's fun and reminds me of Baldur's Gate 2. There are so many unique things that can happen during your adventuring: you can become a lawyer, join a bard-off contest and actually have to listen to lute riffs and recreate them, solve some math, learn to manage people and property, and so much more. I'm going for a melee group of goody-two-shoes for my first run, since I'm normally caster-heavy and have an evil party. Haha!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords is beautiful. I'd read reviews that didn't like it as much as the first one, but I certainly loved it. I loved the epic fight scenes, the depth of character of all the NPC's, the philosophical discussions with the creepy old blind woman, finding out more about yourself and choosing who you are. Most unique in this game is that who you choose to be affects everyone around you, and you can influence your friends to go down the same path you're going (for the light or dark side of the force).

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is wonderful. I finished the game and now I am sad, because it is done. The storyline was captivating, and even though I couldn't save someone in the end and went lesbian instead of straight, it was altogether so much fun!

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is an awesome game, the final part of a trilogy. You play the protagonist, a time-traveling prince of ancient Persia, who is a cirque du soliel acrobat, champion rock-climber, dual-wielding martial artist, and schizophrenic who has no clue how to talk to girls.

My Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Character:

Some anime characters I like:

Shannon Kasull of Scrapped Princess. He was just cool.

The whole crew of Haibane Renmei. I like how the girls live in a community, and how we're discovering with them how to go on to the next level of existence.

Jing from King of Bandit is cool! He is a top-knotch thief who decides to steal things of symbolic value, and helps people along the way.

Ginji and Ban of Get Backers. They're partners in a business where they can get anything back for you that was stolen! I like their brotherly love, and how they care about each other and those they encounter.

Lieutenant Colonel Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist. THe flame alchemist!

Inuyasha from the anime Inuyasha. He's a half human half demon with super cute dog ears! With cool powers, and so much ego and arrogance... but he really cares about people... and being a good person!

Edward Elric, the Full Metal Alchemist. He's small for his age but he's so cute! He loves his brother and dedicates his life to getting his brother's body back to normal after an accident... so touching...!
