Good gear is always important, but your fingers attribute as much to your sound as most any piece of equipment. That being said though, I do still have a creedo that I live by, “If its an amp, it has to be tube, and if its electric , it better say Fender or Gibson for me to play it. As for as acoustic guitars, I’m more forgiving. If it has a good timbre and sound, I’m not as particular. And though I love my effects pedals, I’ve come to the conclusion that the fewer effects you can get away with, the better.
My band is Gabby Hayz and we recorded a cd last year called ‘Keepsake’ Comprised of 13 original songs and one cover. Please check it out at the Gabby Hayz MySpace page as we currently have 6 of the songs streaming on there for you to hear. If you like it, please pick up a copy through CDBABY.COM where it is available online. We are working on some new tunes and plan to release another CD sometimes next year through Grooveyard records. Stay tuned for more info.
Hear is my take on major label record companies- Most major labels are the scum off satan's ass and were put forth on this earth to distribute mindless, uninspiring, meaningless , forgetable nonsense that they try to force feed to the masses by calling it music. Just turn on the radio and you'll see what I mean. Like most other things in this world their main motivation is money not real music. what a shame! I know money makes the world go round but we at the Gabby Hayz camp are much more interested in making real music, not this American Idol bullshit you hear everywhere. So be it!!!Layout Created at KillerKiwi.net
