About Me

This is the land of confusion - Missouri. A blue-blood in a red state, I grew up in the southern part of Missouri and earned my bachelors degree in Geology from Missouri State in 2000. Afterwards, I left to work in Jefferson City as an intern to the House of Representatives and the Missouri DOT. Fate worked in my favor and I was awarded an assistantship in the Urban and Regional Planning program at the University of Iowa. I finished my masters degree in Transportation Planning in 2003 and started work at Missouri DOT two weeks later. That was five-and-a-half years ago and I'm still going strong.
Outside of work, life is good, though there's never enough time to do everything. Lately, I've been working on improving the interior look of my house. The first project was my living room; the next project is the kitchen. I have a dog, Spencer, who is a lot of fun and he seems to tolerate me pretty well too.
I love to watch sports (mainly baseball and football) and root for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Iowa Hawkeyes. When the weather is warm, I also like to be anywhere near the water, whether it be for wading (I can't swim well) or floating. And though I haven't done it in a long time, I think I still like to camp and hike - afterall, I did have aspirations of being a geologist.:)
