RevaSundari is six ladies who have a love for Tribal & Tribal Fusion style dance.   Our name means "Beautiful woman, one who moves". We call our style dance Tribal Belly Dance.  'Tribal', to us, is the union of choreographed and improvisational belly dance forms danced together as a group, or tribe. Our style of tribal includes TGI (Tribal Group Improvised) and Tribal Fusion. Â
TGI is a group composed of a leader and following dancers. They improvise a dance with a series of learned non-verbal cues and a common vocabulary of movements.  RevaSundari is heavily influenced by American Tribal Style (ATS) created by Carolena Nericcio and performed by Fat Chance Belly Dance, however we expand beyond a pure FCBD-ATS format and vocabulary thus calling our style TGI. Â
Tribal Fusion is a form rooted in the basics of Tribal dance but expands beyond the pure FCBD-ATS vocabulary and includes timed choreography and different costuming. It 'fuses' other ethnic dance styles, such as Indian, African, Flamenco and in many cases pops and locks but always show emphasis in the basics of tribal format of dance.Â
