THIS WEEK ON ECW STARRING C.M. PUNK!
TUESDAY APRIL 1st 2008In a tag contest where Chavo was intent on proving himself against Kane, and Shelton Benjamin wanted to show that he is still deserving of his "Gold Standard" label, the new ECW Champion & the Straightedge Superstar would do all of the asserting. Punk hit the GTS on the bitter Benjamin, then picked up the three-count to give himself and Kane the victory.CM Punk, along with new ECW Champion Kane, had his way with Shelton Benjamin & Chavo Guerrero, pinning his bitter Money in the Bank opponent in tag team action Tuesday night.

MONDAY MARCH 31 2008
ORLANDO, Fla. – CM Punk is learning that being “Mr. Money in the Bank†has its privileges. But one of its biggest drawbacks is that other Superstars want to use you as a stepping stone and test of their mettle. On Raw, the newest Money in the Bank winner went head-to-head with one of his opponents from the night before – Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho. And Y2J was out to prove that Punk’s victory over him and five other Superstars was a fluke.During the fast-paced match, Y2J countered Punk’s Go To Sleep, then pulled the Straightedge Superstar in close and hit the Codebreaker to score the pinfall.Jericho got the redemption he wanted, but Punk had the satisfaction that he took the Intercontinental Champion to the limit – proving when the time comes to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase, he’ll be a threat to any champions’ gold.

MARCH 30 2008ORLANDO, Fla. – The Straightedge Superstar shot straight to the top of the championship ranks Sunday night, thanks to his latest acquisition.Former ECW Champion CM Punk fended off Chris Jericho on top of a 15-foot-high ladder to claim the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania XXIV. The victory over a talented field of six other Superstars gives Punk the opportunity to immediately challenge for any of WWE’s three major championships – anytime, anyplace. But what was more shocking than Punk’s victory was the return of Montel Vontavious Porter’s most persistent rival, Matt Hardy.Fully recovered from a ruptured appendix suffered late last year, Hardy rushed to ringside to thwart the United States Champion’s chance to claim the briefcase, knocking down SmackDown’s king of bling with a Twist of Fate off the ladder as the Citrus Bowl crowd roared.Sources tell WWE.com that MVP was irate in the locker room, knowing now that the No. 1 threat to his U.S. Title is back and gunning for him. After Punk's win in this human destruction derby, all of WWE’s champions will have to watch their backs and keep their guards up. But as last year’s winner, Mr. Kennedy, found out last year, “Mr. Money in the Bank†is a target for all those in the locker room who seek a taste of that king-making power. But for one immortal night in Orlando, CM Punk is “money.†And our fans worldwide know it.THE SKYS THE LIMIT!!

Phil Brooks, born October 26, 1978, better know as C.M. Punk. C.M. Punk is currently signed to WWE on the ECW brand.
Punk was born, raised and lived in Chicago, Illinois with a father with alcohol problems,[64][5] two younger sisters[8] and a brother who grew up to also be a professional wrestler, using the ring name Mike Broox,[4][62] however Punk and Mike had a falling out after Mike embezzled several thousand dollars from the Lunatic Wrestling Federation.[69] Punk first wished to pursue a career in professional wrestling after watching Roddy Piper crack a coconut over Jimmy Snuka's head during an edition of the Piper's Pit.[3][7] While viewing his alcoholic father and reading that alcoholism may have been hereditary Punk made an agreement with himself to abstain from drinking alcohol to prevent the situation from occurring.[3] During high school Punk discovered the hardcore punk music genre, most importantly for him Minor Threat, and by extension found the hardcore subculture which in turn lead to the discovery of the straight edge culture, which Punk himself adopted.[3] After high school and beginning his wrestling careerOn June 24, 2006 Punk made his ECW debut during a house show at the former ECW Arena, defeating Stevie Richards.[37] He made his TV debut on the July 4 episode of ECW on Sci Fi, cutting a brief pre-taped face promo about his straight edge lifestyle emphasizing the disciplinary aspects of being drug and alcohol free.[38] Although he had retained the straight edge gimmick, he now had a Muay Thai training background. Punk made his TV wrestling debut on August 1, 2006 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, defeating Justin Credible.[39] CM Punk established himself in ECW by going undefeated, defeating opponents such as Christopher W. Anderson,[40] Stevie Richards,[41] and Shannon Moore.[42]
