About Me

Steve Merola performs on both chromatic and diatonic harmonicas. He is quite versatile and his range of styles include R&B, jazz, blues, and orchestral music along with the standard "trains and jailhouse" harp sounds. He is also available as a drummer. He has played with artists such as Earl Slick, David Olney, Vinnie Zummo, and Bonnie Raitt, as well as jazz with Jimmy Knepper, Joel Peskin, Peter Prisco and Don Hahn. He has had the good fortune to have worked with some of the finest producers in the recording industry including Richie Zito, Frankie LaRocka, Eddie Kramer and Michael Kamen. Steve has appeared on numerous major label and indie releases on both instruments. Besides playing in venues ranging from bars to arenas, he has performed on Broadway and has worked on many sessions and jingles. He also produced hundreds of demo sessions and in 2003 was the Executive Producer of "Late Night In The Doghouse" by "CatDaddy Jones" on Fountainbleu Records. Steve is a songwriter and has been a member of ASCAP for more than 25 years.
