About Me

What can I say? Hmmmm....talking about myself is about as comfortable as giving myself root canal. I love my parents. I love my dogs. My humor is dry, but I work with what I have. My friends are few, but they are mine. I am open and to the point but not belligerent. Some might say that I am an acquired taste...so beware (haha). I enjoy learning whether it be on a scholastic level, or one of the many everyday 'studies' that life provides. I enjoy visiting new places, meeting new people, and trying new things. I am a musician. I have a degree in composition. I have lived in L.A., N.Y., Vienna, Austria, and I currently reside in VA. I have done session work as a composer and as a player. I have played guitar in a variety of settings such as rock, southern rock, small jazz, jazz/fusion combos, classical guitar ensembles, as well as viola in string quartets, and the orchestra. In addition to composing and playing I am currently teaching at the Community College and at a music store. So, music is my life. But I still enjoy other things such as working out, mixed martial arts, and swimming. Movies, playing pool, and getting together with my friends is fun too. Well, I can't think of much more to write, but if I do, or if I find a solution to world peace, or time travel I'll add that (there's that dry humor...no...maybe it's more cheesy). Composing music for film and television is probably one of the most challenging and at the same time most stimulating things one can do as a composer. The ability to add to a scene as well as the project as a whole and at the same time compose a piece of music that can stand on its own regardless of the situation (ie hearing the music with or without the scene) can prove to be quite a task. But that is the challenge, isn’t it? Education: 2001 B.A. cum laude, George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Major: music composition. Movies:

Dracula's Mother: Cute comedy about what happens when Dracula decides to bring his girlfriend home to meet his mother. I scored this film with a mixture of real strings, real voices and my trusty Triton. My approach to composing the score to Dracula's Mother was to fit the mood of the old black and white horror classics. The only thing "borrowed" for the wedding was Mendelssohn's Wedding March at the end of the film.Lot Lizards: Three truck stop prostitutes try to figure out which path their life should take after deciding they no longer wish to "turn tricks." I scored the opening credits to this film using my trusty Fender Strat, my Peavey bass and my Korg M1. The voice is yours truly. Unfortunately, neither Barry White nor Issac Hayes were available at the time.

Television:

Seinfeld, Star Trek (classic), Twilight Zone, Rosanne, Family Guy, Robot Chicken...

Books:

In The Wake Of The Plague, Dracula, Crazy From The Heat,Grimm's Fairy Tales,The Iliad & The Odyssey,Beethoven,Divine Comedy...
