About Me

If there is anyone who ever did so little with so much, you'd probably be talking to him right now. Little did I know that by just being myself I could attain new heights of mediocrity. As it stands, this MySpace profile is just about pushing me to the edge: If it gets another update in the next five years, it will be too soon.
Born right in the middle of a cultural revolution in 1968, I was too late to be a hippie and too early to be a yuppie. Not content with being just another slacker, but never ambitious enough to take a stab at starting-up a multi-billion dollar business, I happily graduated high school just under the honors GPA level, but with a 29 ACT, which I took before the era of prep-schools and exam-cram cheatsheet booklets. I immediately tood advantage of college and successfully completed 3 years of study in 4 1/2 years, wasting tons of money while discovering myself.
Upon receiving a sharp dose of reality in 1991 with the advent of the Gulf War and my eventual droppout of college, I turned to a brief and almost eventual career in the fastfood business, only to find my hard earned money being sucked away by my new found passion for gambling. Going nowhere faster than I was used to doing, I made an executive and life changing decision in 1995 by embarking on the one career that no-one (repeat no-one) in their right mind would have thought I would have done: Join the U.S. Navy.
Since then, I've traveled most of the Pacific Ocean, had a son (yet another life altering occurance) and pretty much straightened up, although most people would probably disagree. It's been a long strange trip, and it's getting even stranger all the time.
.....Mike

My Interests

Varied. Let's face it, I'm a guy - we're easily amused.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus Christ and Alan W. Watts come to mind, not necessarily in that order, along with Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin.

Living personalities would include the likes of Paul Westerberg and my whole extended family, both in Great Britain and the Western United States.

..

Music:

Anything that's catchy. Especially like 80's and 90's Alt-Rock. Paul Westerberg rules!

Movies:

If it's Anime, Animation, or Navy movies, I'm in.....

Books:

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Second Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

Level Score
Purgatory (Repenting Believers) Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers) Very Low
Level 2 (Lustful) Very High
Level 3 (Gluttonous) Moderate
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) Moderate
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics) Low
Level 7 (Violent) High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers) Very High
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous) High
Take the Dante's Divine Comedy Inferno Test

And One More (And a Request)

I’ve been trying to fix this one since I wrote it in 1998.  I’m not sure of the inspiration, but it seems to lean heavily on Oasis.  If I could ever get some help with it, I&rsqu...

Look What I Found

I was going through some old CD/DVD’s today when I found some lost treasures among them.  Not only were there some very old photos, but some stuff I wrote in 1997.  I’m currently...

Bonus: Wedding Vows In Vegas

I first heard this Was (Not Was) song in 1988 and was envious.  It's got pathos, black humor, it's introspective, and it's a parody of a style (50's rat pack) with the chairman himself, Frank Sin...

More Confusion

Just more confusion and chaos here.  Leaning on that theme, I figured I'd post more introspective stuff from the same period.  This one is sort of a poem and song in one, which is why it's w...

Confusion?

It's been a revelatory month in my life.  I'll probably look back and reflect on what's happened over the last few weeks down the road and interpret what is really means, but right now I can't af...
