Karen Winters

10 years ago, performance artist and singer/song writer Karen Winters took a good, hard look at her life. I was working at Pic n' Save and drinking heavily. When Big Lots bought out Pic n' Save, I found myself unemployed and eventually homeless. Glued to the TV like the rest of us, Winters remembers the days after 9/11 and found her perspective on life jolted. "I asked myself," she recalls, "Is what I'm doing as a musician meaningful?" After lengthy, ardent talks with her mother who has since passed, Winters proclaimed, "I don't know about you, but this girl's got to play!!!" Winters has always wanted to make music. I like easy rock. I like country, jazz. I like classic rock. Won't listen to much else! There are no boundaries with me.
