Recent technological advancements have begun the begining of the end.
More people illegally downloading music means the need for major record labels is diminishing.
Computers are making the process easier than ever before, allowing people to create, advertise and sell their own tracks independantly and on their own terms.
Any average person can make a decent commercial track relatively easily. Commercial music is becoming less and less marketable. Artists are regaining more control of what they produce.
With all this why do we need labels anymore?? Will it be 10, 15 or 20 years before all music is finally out of the sphere of control of people who's soul concern is money?
How soon will it be before all compromise for the sake of success will be forgotten?
How much longer will mediocre hacks, who use music as a golden ticket, be able to fill the limited air with white noise, drowning out real creative thought?
I plan to speed up this process. I want to see how far I can get on my own, with only the support of my immediate family and friends.
No labels.
No compromise.
No bullshit pandering.
Just what for me is right.
Here's to being alone, but not lonely.
