I enjoy a truckload of activities... from just heading out to dinner (LOVE food!), movies and concerts; to water/amusement parks. Just about anything outdoors gets me going; swimming, wave running, hiking, snowboarding, biking especially, climbing/scrambling, rappelling, and camping/exploring. LOVE ATVing! I'll probably die on one someday. Indoor activities include; game/card playing, racquetball, drums and percussion, DVDs, you name it! Highs on my List Of Things To Do Before I Croak include hang gliding (again!), parachuting, and caving. I also travel a bit, having been to Europe and about 40 states or so. I take pleasure in reading and writing, although I don't draw much anymore. Basically, I'm up for almost anything that could likely kill me.
Already MET her! She's not married (not gonna be THAT guy, messin' with other people's relationships), or a Mom (I'm not even sure if I want kids of my OWN, much less someone else's. Guess that's why I put some little guys on ice, and got the ol' snip-snip!), or overly religious (sorry; not into organized superstition). And I actually MET her through MySpace; will miracles never cease? Anyway, physically, she's around my height or less, around my weight or less, and has a thin, athletic, or average body type (that is - she's NOT some skin & bones thing; she's recognizable AS a woman from the front and/or side)! She's not rolling in dough; but she works hard and together we'll get her outof debt really soon (and then we can work on ME)! GREAT smile - and she does it often! She's more spiritual than religious; a non-smoker who drinks socially, she's fun & funny, AND laughs at my jokes! She's outdoorsy - but not a Granola; she's in shape - but not a gym-rat! She's friendly with my folks, but on the way home she'll let one loose! She has a mind of her own, but she's open to new info. She's basically an optimist and basically an extrovert - but not an obnoxious brat - although that's okay from time to time, too! Loyal & trustworthy, she seems to respect our relationship enough to tell me the Truth, even if it sucks. She READS. And reads something other/more than Cosmo or Jacki Collins. She's an Omnivore rather than a Herbivore; she'll watch Star Trek, Mr. Show, Monty Python and the Discovery vchannel with me; and she's good with dogs! She actually loves almost ALL animals, near as I can tell. She's creative and musical. She also enjoys sex and sensuality so much I can barely keep up with her. Finally, she regularly kicks my ass at Sequence AND actually likes a bit of RUSH. The perfect woman!
I'm a music whore! I currently have over 160 GIGS of tunes on my computer! Although I follow certain "core bands" (such as BNL, Ben Folds 5 and solo Ben, Collective Soul, Phil Collins/Genesis/peter gabriel, Cowboy Junkies, Dada, Godsmack, Helmet, Fuel, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, Dave Matthew's Band, John Mayer, Sting, Rush, The Police, Yes, Sarah McLaughlin, and Seal), I like a little bit of everything, including some country, some dance, some classical and acoustic stuff (and basically ANYTHING from the Narada label!), except - I gotta admit - I'm not into rap/hip hop, etc. Wow. What LONG run-on sentence THAT was...
"Favorite movie" is REALLY tough!! I guess it depends on my mood - and the type of movie. I'm sure I have a favorite Sci-Fi flick, an action one, drama, comedy, etc. but ONE over ALL of them? That's ROUGH! I'm seriously not sure. I generally like more, umm... "relevant" movies... for instance, I saw "Kill Bill" - and even though I respect the way in which it was done, and even liked aspects of it, it's not something that makes much of a difference to me... it's a "flick" more than a "film" I guess. I don't mean to sound snobby about it - I just know myself, and what I like. Then again, I also own some really goofy DVDs - but I think they're relevant in their own ways... classic comedies for instance; like Animal House, or Fast Times at Ridgemont High or The Jerk. Then I'll own stuff that is completely so NOT relevant in any way, but - tough shit, I LIKE it!! Zorro the Gay Blade, or even Waterworld. I am also collecting every movie that won Movie of the Year (I know I won't like them all, but that's why it's called a COLLECTION). It's interesting to watch and see what was deemed the pinnacle of movie making in the year you were born... or what was IT the year you graduated high school, or whatever. I tell you, even some of the ones considered Classic I find a near bore (like The Deer Hunter; other then some VERY iconic - and obvious - scenes!).
I'm in mourning - they canceled Arrested Development! I see TV all day at work; so I rarely watch it at home. But when Shark Week is on, don't even bother talkin' to me! And just know that South Park and/or Mr. Show are practically litmus tests for future friendship.
I don't read as much fiction as I used to; I guess as I got older, Real Life seemed more interesting than fictional ones. In the non-fiction arena then, I enjoy reading M. Scott Peck (The Road Less Traveled ranks higher than any bible with me), John Krakauer, and even Neil Peart when he's not being a whiny bitch. Lately, political humor is great; Al Franken, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert are favs. I read Auto- and/or biographies often, as well as "researched" books on various subjects; religion, philosophy, history, etc.In the sci-fi area, I enjoy Douglas Adams and Star Trek stuff.
Hmmm... heroes. I guess we can't count Daredevil... and the X movies (although entertaining) sorta messed with my vision of Wolverine.I have a few, in different areas of my life and interests. Philosophically, I'd have to say Socrates; musically, I'd have to say Sting or Neil Peart (although needs to write less, the whiny BABY and drum more), or even Phil Collins (when he didn't suck). Personally, it's my dad...Nuff said.
