As a part of Boston's thriving independent music scene, IVDiffusion advances a different
attitude. The band connects the dots between the introspective gloom of drone
alternative and the electronic-inspired leanings of modern avant-gard. Propulsive
drumming? Check. Two-packs-a-day baritone vocals? Check. Trembling cello, blankets of
guitar, driving melodic bass? It's all there. But beware of the musical sucker-punch:
the band ignores old combinations of sounds and imagines new ones to put in their places.
Sonic detours abound, and songs can grow from a meditative murmur to a rhythmic attack
that will make your vertebrae chatter and your ears begging for more.
