About Me

Ah the tours and stories to be told - but.... maybe we won't. What happens on the road, stays on the road eh lads? The Tathra Studio where the hallowed album came to be - way down Moore Ck Rd in the deepest reaches out of Tamworth, has been carted off by the termites but the Moonbi valley still holds echoes of the rehearsal days - where Slim Dusty saw the 'Lights on the Hill' and we saw lights in our eyes...AND THE CD...! "It starts with a bang, picks more pace song after song and suddenly ends, leaving you craving for more! That’s veteran musician band Backbeat’s album ‘The Sessions’ for you. Led by multi-player Andrew Clermont, here’s an ultimate bluegrass rendering. It’s not often that the best of artists get together to create something the outcome of which supersedes expectations. This is the case when Backbeat - a group of veterans in country music - released their collective recording album ‘The sessions”. This vibrant album starts with a bang, picks more pace song after song and suddenly ends, leaving you craving for more!Led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Andrew Clermont, this is an ultimate bluegrass rendering that has both original score as well as covers. Guitar, violin and banjo together gel with the support of tight percussions to create a distinct collective sound. And what makes the sound complete is amazing harmony & chorus singing along with peppy solos. Recordings of each voice gave a very rich delivery of the combined harmonies the album maintains few quips & quotes throughout the recording, which aptly justifies the name - the sessions. It was only after three months of vigorous rehearsals that recordings from ‘the sessions’ were clinched. The Backbeat CD has successfully made a mark in many peoples country collections - now here to top your wish-list. So, get ready for a rockin’ taste of bluegrass blended with country/folk music, for the ‘sessions’ are soon to begin again!" Member Since: 28/06/2007
Band Website: http://www.andrewclermont.com.au
Band Members: The stepping stones to the album’s concept were laid in Tamworth, Australia when BassMan Radical Rick from Radio 2YOU FM, Tamworth brought together the award winning songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Brian Dover, a dedicated Banjo player with colourful tenor voice, Daryl (now Jack ) Melbourne and Drummer Bruce Priddis. The band got its dynamic frontline when Andrew Clermont, a Gold Guitar Winner with the Three Chord Wonders and 3-time Bluegrass Guitar Champ, came in with his quick fingers ricocheting of Jack’s Banjo prowess.
Influences: New Grass Revival ofcourse, Ozark Mt DareDevils, and what ever goes on in Clermont's head after Dover puts lyric and song together on the long drives to rehearsal !
Sounds Like: Drive time Rockgrass in a Bluesy but goodtime kinda way see Clermont's website for more sound samples
