Marty Fritz is a singer songwriter-Texas born and Texas proud. This spitfire brunette grew up in Hitchcock Texas, "The Home of the Fighting Bulldogs" along with her brother and three sisters. Often left alone in a struggling single parent household, Marty and her siblings passed the time by listening and singing to the tunes of Randy Travis. It is her dream to one day meet and share with Mr. Travis the many cherished childhood memories made from his music. Marty knew that she wanted to sing when she was in elementary school. She had always hoped that she would be chosen to sing in the choir on mass days, but because she was so timid, she was often overlooked. When anyone from Hitchcock High School thinks of Marty, they'll probably remember her singing in the hallways in between classes, lunch time, and on the bus during road trips. Her first experience with the microphone (coerced by her sister Kammy) was in 1997 at Tortillas Restaurant in Clear Lake Texas on Karaoke night. It was at that moment that she realized that singing and performing was something that she had to pursue. Her first live performance was in 1997 at the Lee College Nursing School Orientation where she chose to sing Gloria Gaynor's " I will Survive" to motivate all of the frightened nursing students.
Marty has performed at a variety of venues including Opry's, festivals, church choir, weddings, restaurants, and high school sporting events (national anthem). She has worked the Texas Opry circuit since 2001 and was a member of the "Texas Gold" house band at the Milam Opry in Rockdale Texas. She has also performed at the largest Opry in Texas, the Son's of Herman Hall "Country Music Monday" in Giddings TX, with her greatest accomplishment thus far being chosen to perform five times within the past year at Johnnie High's Country Music Revue (JHCMR) in Arlington Texas. JHCMR is the venue where Leann Rimes performed for 6 years for a total of 423 shows as well as Steve Holy for a total of 300 shows. Other previous performers on JHCMR include Leanne Womack, Gary Morris, Miranda Lambert, and Kelly Clarkson. Mr. Johnnie High was so impressed with Marty's rendition of "Coal Miner's Daughter", that he invited her back to perform the song on one of the show's first televised seasons (13 episodes) to be aired beginning in September 2007.In addition to her vocal abilities, she also enjoys writing songs and collaborating with others who share her same passion for music. Her magnetic raspy voice sounds like combination of Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline with an impressive vocal range. Her broad musical interests include but are not limited to traditional and modern country, blues, rock, and pop. Her musical influences include Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Randy Travis, Reba Macintyre, Bonnie Raitt, Martina McBride, Ray Charles, George Strait, Prince, and Madonna. Whatever Marty sings, she offers it with fire and conviction and dishes it up with a joyful enthusiasm that lets you know that she is for real! The next stop on Marty's musical journey is to ultimately establish or join a band in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In Marty's real life she is happily married to the paramedic/fireman of her dreams and keeps busy with raising their four children. She also has a bachelor's degree in nursing specializing in ICU and emergency medicine. Marty never meets a stranger and can make you laugh until your stomach hurts!
