BLESSED CHILD'S SHOWCASE: CLICK HERE TO RATE HIS ALBUMBlessed Child was born LaDandy (Danny) Sneed Jr. and raised in Houston’s 3rd Ward on Sauer St. The youngest of 4 boys, he had to deal with a lot of adversity early on in his life. One of his brothers died from AIDS, another was addicted to crack and the other got locked up for selling drugs all around the time Danny was in middle school. Blessed Child has been writing rhymes since the age of 10 and started rapping at block parties by the time he was 15. In 2002 Danny graduated from Jack Yates High School. At the time he didn't have a job, was not in school, and that’s when he really began rapping about God. One day a wineo off the street heard him rapping and told him he was a blessed child. Danny replied, “What did you say?” The man replied, “You are a blessed child!” Looking at the man from the middle of his driveway, Danny said, “That’s it! That’s my name!” Danny laughingly asked the man, “Since you came up with the name, how much you gonna charge me for claiming it?” The man replied, “Nothing because you are a blessed child!” and kept on walking. At this point Danny became “Blessed Child”. He began meeting many people in the industry whom all told him to never stop perfecting his craft. So Danny literally ran with that knowledge (100 Miles Runnin’). Being an inspiration to others is what Blessed Child represents. He raps about his life, what he has endeavored and furthermore to save souls. His lyrics are straight from the heart and rendering Gods work through his music is what separates him from the rest. Blessed Child is determined to bring light to the industry, while maintaining the unique style that defines him. The prodigal son that can rap about God, but keep it hood all at the same time truly exemplifies the gift God gave him. His tongue will never speak profanely nor degrade any of Gods creatures, especially our Women.
