Cindy is a 1998 Kerrville New Folk Award Winner...and a respected member of both the performing songwriter and Nashville staff songwriter circles for over two decades. She’s been a mainstage performer at the Kerrville Folk Festival since she was a 1998 New Folk winner; she also toured the country as a backup singer for Tammy Wynette. She’s performed at numerous house concerts and festivals around the country; she’s also sung background vocals in the studio for artists from Clarence Carter to Mickey Newbury to Dana Cooper. She has collaborated on songs with fellow singer-songwriters including Kate Wallace, Sally Barris, Beau Haddock and David Llewellyn. As a staff writer she’s written for Sony/Tree Music, BMG, Gehl Force Music and others, and has had songs recorded by a number of artists including Perfect Stranger, Emelio, Linda Davis and Lari White, whose recording of “Now I Know†won Cindy a BMI award for most performed songs and a “Million-Air Award†for over one million airplays. Her songs have been described as “haunting,†“emotionally accessible,†and “deeply personal.â€
