I am English, have two daughters both married and one in the professional field. I have three grandchildren whom I adore, but have let mum know I am climbing mountains not knitting.
I like to spend as much time as possible climbing and trekking in the bush, so I try to keep fit in the gym, and try to swim once a week if work does not interfere. I hope in time to settle down to perfect my painting and drawing, as they are good for helping me slow down and relax.
I have a secret desire to learn how to ride a motor bike as i'd love to travel Australia, even though not necessarily by bike. I will travel around Australia before to long as I feel it is important to me.
I have two sides to my nature strong and practical, interested in the business world or similar material activities, even though I am trying to draw away from this. Mind you I remain interested enough to not be ignorant, and maintain a balance to what is needed and what is wants.
The other side of me is a free spirit, sometimes the practical side steps in and opportunities that come along get missed (have to change this)The free spirited side of me does not want to feel restrained in anyway.
As I get older I am learning to balance my ambitious practical side with the free spirited so I can feel comfortable with both.I found this while reading and thought I might share it with my friends.
"May our loving thoughts fill the whole world, above, below, across without limits, a boundless goodwill towards the the whole world, unrestricted, free of hatred and enimity" (Sutta Nipata 118)
