Sons of War

Don Foose - emerged on the hardcore music scene in the late 1990's fronting the Cleveland hardcore band The Spudmonsters. After 3 full length albums, a half dozen European tours, an MTV single and a constant schedule of recording, rehearsing and traveling, Foose decided to take some time off. In '98, after practicing devotional life for 4 yrs. in the Hare Krsna movement, Foose took formal initiation into the Gaudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya. He recieved the name Dayal-Nitai das. Shortly thereafter in '98 The Spudmonsters decided to call it a day and Foose formed an old school hardcore project, Run Devil Run. The Run Devil Run project was picked up by Victory Records. Run Devil Run was a refreshing project that consisted of 4 friends who just wanted to record and enjoy writing music rather than meeting recording deadlines and touring obligations. Once the album came out, it was back to the races. Run Devil Run toured Europe 3 times right away and played the world renowned Dynamo Open-Air festival which Metallica headlined. It was becoming painfully apparent that Run Devil Run was becoming much more then a recording project and the band decided to take a break in 2003 and they never picked back up. In 2004, Foose wanted to experiment and delve into other musical influences. After 15 years of hardcore music, he felt as though he was rehashing the same songs over and over again. He teamed up with fellow Spudmonsters drummer Eric Mathews, guitarist Eric Susa And Daveo to form Sons of War.Eric Susa had started in the Cleveland music scene at the age of 12, working with other local bands for years but realized that the local scene was not going anywhere. 2 Years later Eric Susa And Eric Matthews had met and started writing , when Eric Matthews talked to Don Foose and Daveo, we started Sons of War.
