WELCOME TO MARTY PARKER ART! I’ve pretty much been doing this (Art, not writing personal profiles) my entire Life. Mom said I was drawing before I could talk, which isn’t that impressive when you consider I just started talking last year. Even as a kid I loved not only doing art, but being inspired by it, too. Norman Rockwell was an early influence, I spent hours copying his work, along with the dazzling comic book art of The Amazing Spiderman and Frank Frazetta. Blessed with very supporting Parents and two of the finest High School Art & Life Teachers a Young Lad could have, I began painting in my teens. Started my college art experience at 17, and when I wasn’t throwing debauched Roman Toga Parties I learned much about colour and style from another Art & Life Philosophy Guru, Gary Pruner. I moved from my beloved Northern California Suburbs to finish school at Long Beach State, where I also majored in Theatre Arts. That and a Fine Arts Degree, along with 2 bucks, will get you a small cup of the House Blend at Starbucks. For a long stretch in Hollywood I focused on acting and writing, setting my drawing & painting aside. But in the past few years I have returned to my First True Love – Art. Beyond my own personal creative and emotional expression, my Goal is to inspire others with my work, to hopefully add beauty and joy to their lives, and to the Light of the Cosmos! Damn!
