World Cafe Live is pleased to present its second annual summer music festival, Beta Hi-Fi, from August 18-25, 2008!
World Cafe Live aims to highlight not only the diversity of its own stage but also of the city it lies in the heart of. Upstairs Live at World Cafe Live will continue the tradition of providing a platform for the best of Philadelphia’s Emerging Artists with a week-long showcase of the region’s finest. Culminating in a line-up of over 30 performances throughout the week that will serve as a showcase for industry professionals as well as for fans looking to discover new artists. The final night will feature the week’s 6 best performers, who will be rewarded with fabulous prizes! (Prizes to be announced) All shows in the Upstairs Cafe will be free to the public during the week.
World Cafe Live hosts live music seven nights a week in two distinct venues, as well as operating a full service bar and restaurant. Since its opening the venue has demonstrated a dedication to developing and supporting emerging local and national artists from the weekly Philly Rising Open Mic night to hosting the Philadelphia debuts of artists like James Hunter and Brandi Carlile.
