About Me

Hello out there. Actually the band at the moment is just me but I would really like to get one together so I could concentrate on the vocal side of it. I've been around for a long time geographically speaking but not long as a singer/songwriter. Some people have to come out of the closet and I'm happy to be (at last!) coming out of your speakers.I taught myself to play the guitar so I could accompany myself. Unfortunately I started a few decades too late but have been able to work with some really nice people in getting this far with my music. Thanks to Ed ten Hoed for his studio, energy, and skills on the original recording work, Toek Numan for his wonderful help with arrangement and his enthusiasm and , Jan van Bijnen for his devastating Dubro and mandoline. THANKS VERY MUCH GENTLEMEN!! (Doesn't cover it...) One of the greatest buzzes in the world is to sing and play with other people and I want to do more of it. Just singing in chords with other singers is delicious and when it's my own stuff that we're doing the kick is tremendous. I'm looking forward to getting more stuff together in the future. So please give these songs a listen and see what you think.I have been performing professionally all my life as an actor but I was always afraid of 'being myself' on stage. Singing my own stuff without the shield of a costume was like being naked but a few years ago I plucked up the courage to go and sing in public on my own for the first time. I played a couple of times at the Parool Theatre in Amsterdam and this is what the journalists had to say:18.03.06 Niels Bijvoet of The Parool (Dutch National paper) wrote: “Singer/ songwriter Alan Morris was sick with nerves when he began to sing but right from the first note there was little evidence of it. The little man made a big impression with his crystal clear voice and subtle guitar. His candid stories brought his songs even more to life.”22.03.06 Marlies Dinjens wrote in the same paper: ..…You could have heard a pin drop while he played his sensitive songs about getting older, about being aware of the precious moments in our lives and the passage of time. During his protest song “Lions and Lambs”, his voice cut like a knife, filling the space. One man shouted spontaneously, “Beautiful, magnificent!”I am founding member of Tea Company in the Netherlands. Feel free to visit.
