How many minutes do you have left? It's a time in music when everyone is looking for the next indie-rock masterpiece or a band they can compare to respected-but-relatively-unknown bands like My Bloody Valentine or The Stooges. What about a band that just makes great music? How about a group of guys that have 'the sound' but aren't looking to create a new genre? Enter Two Million Minutes . . . it is time . . .Two Million Minutes are an Orange County, California based alternative rock trio originally hailing from Lakewood, CA (a suburb of both Long Beach and Los Angeles) that superimpose ambient, textural guitar work, and lush, counter-intuitive melodies upon a sonic foundation of milky, serpentine bass lines and seismic drumming. Two Million Minutes employ a modern, groove-laden alt-rock platform to feature both memorable songs and a strong melodic presence. Combine the laid-back Long Beach attitude with LA immediacy and you're there (minus the traffic).A combination of three guys who have known each other for many years and have worked together in a number of incarnations, Two Million Minutes coalesced out of a like-minded desire to make superb rock without sacrificing intensity, musicianship or melody. As lead singer Tony P. put it, "This is my last band."After all, it is about the music, right? Apparently so -- the band was nominated for “Best Pop Rock Band” for 2005 and “Best Alternative Band” for the 2004 Orange County Music Awards; they were featured artists on 95.5 KLOS’ “Local Licks” show, LBC radio.com and KCLA fm; their music was in regular rotation at the San Diego Padres’ Qualcomm Stadium in 2003; the band had two songs and one video featured in the Battista Brothers DVD feature film, Errors, Freaks & Oddities; they were national finalists in the Global Battle of the Bands; one of the band’s songs was featured (and considered a “highlight” by the OC Register’s Robert Kinsler) on the Orange County compilation CD “The Future of Alternative Music” (FOAM); and they are being increasingly featured on internet webcasts like EORadio and podcasts such as the “Accident Hash Podcast,” the “Tower of Song” podcast, and “DIY Endeavors.”Simultaneously upbeat in tone yet darkly introspective, the band¡¦s songs reveal their innermost yearnings, existential struggles, and idealistic imaginings. Their sound combines the energy of 90's alternative rock, the songcraft and musicianship of modern pop, and quasi-industrial, ambient flavors.Think of bands whose songs have stuck with you. Two Million Minutes will be in that category. Their style has also been likened to a combination of Stone Temple Pilots, Radiohead, Aerosmith, and The Beatles. Not a bad list for comparison. You can purchase their debut CD release "Resilientman" digitally (individual songs or the entire CD) at www.twomillionminutes.com, cdbaby.com/cd/tmm, or via SNOCAP on this page. Electronic Press Kits (EPK) are available via email upon request or on our website.
