Aeirrefsti Fisis festival

Sunday, 9 September 2007, 19:30, Xanthi: Beside the flowing river, the plane trees, here in the land of Orpheus, unique music is going to be heard. A calling to the primordial, ancient powers of Nature, with prayers of central-European post-industrial sounds, Balkan mythologies, imposing drums and melodic stringed instruments.About the title "Aeirrefsti Fisis". Aei = ever, refsti = flowing (moving, changing), Fisis = nature. "refsti" comes from the verb "reo" = flow. It's also known Heraclitus words "panta rei" (everything changes).The phrase "Aeirrefsti Fisis" comes from the known Orphic Hymn to Nature. Inspired by the beautiful and wild landscape of Xanthi's river Kosynthos we wanted to pay homage to nature's mighty glory by the means of powerful music...The first band to appear will be the promising noir-folk act, Mani Deum. Later on two well known bands will come on stage: Defile Des Ames from Athens and Svarrogh from Bulgaria. Defile Des Ames had previously performed live in Xanthi, a really great show on saturday 3 February 2007. Svarrogh also will perform their beautiful songs for the first time in Greece. As a headliner act is one the greatest and most important bands in the history of neofolk/experimental industrial scene: Allerseelen from Austria will summon the Gods for the first time in Greece.On saturday 8 september and sunday 9 september until the start of the festival there will be a merchandise shop at Xanthi's Laografiko (Folk) Museum (Antika 7, old town).
