About Me

Pash Zaburuev was born 3 July, 1984 in Ufa city. Pash has lived in Moscow since 1991. He joined the world of music when he was 12 years old. Pash was started by learning different keyboards, synths and sequencers. However, he became passionate for music when he was 16. Pash started to play the guitar and a year after he started to take private lessons, but because of different circumstances he went ended up studying music on his own.

Without music theory lessons, Pash learned by copying guitar phrases, riffs and melodies by ear. One of his early influences was Marty Friedman. Pash was taken by Marty's atypically melodic lines, oriental feeling and unusual phrasing. This laid the foundation for Pash's own style of playing, moving away from the stereo typical pentatonic scales.

Whilst learning to play Pash learned to use recording equipment, such as samplers, sound modules and musical software. With this experience he started to record his own playing, with the first recording being a cover of Jimmy Hendrix's "Little Wing". He entered the track for a local guitar contest, winning first place! His next songs "Ignition" and Ignition II" was self penned and made reference to his musical influences of that time: Marty Friedman and John Petrucci.

Pash entered and won first prize with his next recording another Jimmy Hendrix cover "Manic Depression" and his prize was an American Fender Stratocaster.

As his skills developed he incorporated these ideas into his recordings, adding a more progressive edge for the tracks "4" and "Intensity Of The Feeling". His style now incorporated influences from funk, jazz-rock, progressive rock and other styles. Pash wrote a special track for the Instrumental Guitar Fest 2004, entitled "24 Strings". The track featured solos from fellow Russian players Sergey Yudin and Anton Tsygankov.

As well as working on his own original material, Pash worked on more commercial projects. The experience ensured that Pash got closer to the aspects of arrangement and recording. The skills learned were captured in the track "Something private", a slow and lyrical song.

In 2005 Pash took part in a National Guitar Contest. As this was short notice he only had the night before the performance to write the songs! Even with this pressure Pash still took second.

After the contest Pash became more influenced by Greg Howe, writing the well respected track "Closer To The Clouds". This song reflects Pash's new found passion for jazz fusion music which is now a key part of his performance.

Pash is currently working on an exciting debut solo album. He intends to deliver a work that focuses on serious, complex and intellectual music ideas, with Pash's overriding objective to deliver an outstanding album for guitar fans. The album will also feature guest solos from other well known guitarists together with Pash's trade mark legato playing.
