Charm grew up in streets of Inglewood, CA, made famous by platinum recording artist Mack 10, where gang violence wasn’t just something you saw on television. After graduating from Inglewood High School, Charm headed to Grambling State University and majored in Public Relations. Upon returning from school and entering the work force, she had more time to attend comedy shows, one of her favorite pastimes. In 1997, she became the mother of a beautiful daughter who has inherited her mother’s love for comedy. She finds inspiration from her daughter’s light and great sense of humor.
After a horrible breakup from a mentally abusive man, Charm sought refuge in comedy and her comedy became her therapy. In 2006, Charm approached fellow comedian Scruncho and asked if she could perform a 3-5 minute set in the amateur hour. After killing her set and knowing within her heart that she could make a go of doing comedy, she hasn’t looked back and has kept it moving on the comedy scene.
Having performed at The Ice House, The Comedy Store, Rodney Perry’s Tuesday Night Comedy at The Savoy in Inglewood and hosting several shows in the LA area, Charm is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. Her comedy style is greatly geared towards the empowerment of women while degrading men, the roles are definitely reversed when Charm hits the stage. Her loud high pitched voice commands attention and her jokes command laughter. Persistence and tenacity is why she can’t be denied and her creativity and delivery has many people questioning whether she is a new kid on the block. One of her goals and accomplishment is proving that funny is funny no matter what you look like.
Her ultimate goal is to become as famous to the rest of the world as she is in her own mind.
