Music For Autism, Alzheimer's & Dementia

About Me

Hello!
I am Chris Hartzog and I write songs and express what is in my heart.
One of my goals is to raise autism awareness and all profits will help to support the lifelong care of my daughter who has autism.

A Complete Archive is Available on My Web Site: www.chris-hartzog.com
After visiting Hawaii a few times I became excited about and infected with the Hawaiian philosophy of “aloha” and “mana”. In Hawai'i music is "kanikapila", others call it "folk music": People's music: Everyone can & should & has a right to make music!
I write everything myself and record and produce everything in my own studio. So, this is kind of like the days of old where family and friends gathered around the family piano and entertained each other with music, the only difference is we are now gathering around the family internet connection and doing the same thing the world over. You can go to my web site, Chris-Hartzog.com which is an independent blog covering my music, songwriting, recording, plus my personal perspective on autism, Alzheimer's, dementia and related topics.
I am a blend of folk, country and rock and roll with some blues thrown in for color.
I have been described as Jim Croce meets Johnny Cash meets the Beatles. How's that for a mixture?
Some of my musical gurus are Eric Clapton, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Elvis Presley, U2, Brownie McGhee, Tampa Red, The Chairman of the Board...Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and on and on! And of course, in a class all by himself, there is Bruddah IZ -- Israel "Iz" Ka?ano?i Kamakawiwo?ole.

Mahalo nui loa!
