FUCKPOT BIOGRAPHY:
FUCKPOT, who originated in 1998 but didn’t quite earn a name for themselves until 2004, consists of only 2 members, the aptly named NarKotiX and Komponent. Offering up sample-happy techno/noise with a humorous twist, the duo keep the band together despite the hindrance of now living in two separate states, Florida and Michigan. The band had made a small stir in the underground while both members lived in Michigan, but it wasn’t until NarKotiX moved to Florida and attracted AcidVictim Records that things looked up for FUCKPOT.
Once a deal was set, FUCKPOT became the first band signed to AcidVictim Records. Their self-released Fuckpot EP was re-released with a bonus track, along with Satanic Static, a limited reissue of their 2001 collection of 7” records. (both of these albums are now out of print.)
With the self-titled EP, FUCKPOT tortured the underground metal scene with their songs, which consisted mainly of electronic beats and demented movie samples. Many people in the metal underground hated it, which is what FUCKPOT strived for, but there were a few people out there who “got the joke” when it came to FUCKPOT, and their cult status was set.
FUCKPOT then attracted the likes of the underground death/black metal band SHROUD OF DESPONDENCY, and a deal was set with AcidVictim Records to release a 3-Way split CD with the two bands, alongside the acoustic project LEONARD. FUCKPOT’s collection of songs for the split featured tracks from both the Fuckpot EP and Satanic Static, alongside previously unreleased material.
FUCKPOT then self-released a sampler album, The Preposterous Whoring Of Bad Taste. This album, which was released on 3” CD-R format, served as a “greatest hits” and introduction to new listeners. The last known FUCKPOT track recorded before the extended hiatus was a reworked version of the "Political Mumbo Jumbo" song, originally found as a hidden track on the Shroud of Despondency/Fuckpot/Leonard split-CD, now titled "Controlling The Masses Via Moron." Both versions are available on the Greatest Hits free album download.
This bizarre project known as FUCKPOT was officially put on ice in 2006. No new material was planned to be recorded for the forseeable future.
Then one day, a new FUCKPOT album magically appeared! Infected Parasite, the latest Fuckpot opus, is available for free download !
FUCKPOT lives again.
