REMEMBERING ~*~ Edna Goyette November 14,1912-August 16,2001 ~*~ R.H. Harrison, 1907- August 16,1985 ~*~ RAY HARRYHAUSEN ~*~ I met Mr. Harryhausen in his home in London. He was such a nice charming fellow. When I was working in London with Joan Fontaine I had some time off and rang him up and after a nice chat he invited me over and we talked about films and living in California. His very nice wife who’s name escapes me at the moment brought us beers and she had lemonade. I wasn’t working on anything very impressive but told him of my working in Europe on the film The Good King. I was just the actress’s assistant. But I had once wanted to work in animation . He showed me his awesome gallery of models from his films. At the time he’d just returned from the foundry where they’d cast some of his sculptures in bronze. Well, Mr Harryhausen was an idol of mine from when I was younger and to have met and visited him in his home was very special and memorable experience. ~*~ Ray Harryhausen is the creator of so many fantasy film moments. The Dynamation short (above) promotes his film The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. One of my all time favorite films. ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~woolie did the T-Rex animaiton in "fantasia" 1940. ~*~ Wolfgang Reitherman, one of Disney's famed "Nine Old Men"... Though I never "met" Wolfgang Reitherman... He had invited me to visit to his ranch north of Los Angeles. He was almost a mentor. Or at that time I was seeking one in my desire to be a Character Animator. (NEVER HAPPENED) But his gesture to a young me meant a great deal. Sadly he died in an auto accident. ~*~ I use to read Forrest J. Ackerman's magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland when I was a kid. I'd rush to the store around the first of every month and scan the news stands for his magazine. I first met "Forry" when I lived in San Diego. I visited him in his home several times. In his famous collection...was the actual saucer used in Earth vs The Flying Saucers. Among many other items. The ring he wears was the ring Bela Lugosi wore in the original Dracula 1931. He let me wear it for a while. He's a very cool fella to have got to know. Forry celebrates his 92nd birthday this year. ~*~~*~~*~When I was a kid…growing up Mom and I would sit up late and watch the Late-Late Show… They’d show old classic movies….Fast forward at least 12 years. And I had an interview for a Major-Domo job with one of the very “classic†film stars still living. She's in the secluded posh area of Carmel Highlands California. I got the job. The actress to whom I was employeed was Joan Fontaine. ~*~~*~I've met Debbie Reynolds, YoYo Ma, Joan Fontaine, Stepanie Powers, Jonathan Brandis,Leo McKern,Charlott Chatton,Perry King, Clint Eastwood,Rip Taylor,Admiral Jeremy "Mike'' Boorda (A GREAT GUY),Captain William C.
