So, here's a short story of "how it all began" (told by Pilu) :o)
While I went to high school in Nuuk (capital city of Greenland), I made a lot of home recordings in my tiny college room, with Kristine on vocals. Used a very noisy (but powerful) computer that froze often, baad sound quality - but nothing could stop us from recording ;-) In summer 2002 Nikolaj, who also went to high school, heard some of them and he liked them.. Some days later he went to visit me again, this time with his friend Anders who I never had met before at the time - turned out he was a drummer with some years of experience with other bands, he liked the music too, and that's when the idea of forming a new band came to our minds. Later on Mikael, who was my classmate in business school (after high school) and Lars-Peter a former bandmate of Anders were recruited. So, the band now consisted of me (Pilu) (lead gtr,songwriter), Kristine (vox), Nikolaj (rythm gtr), Anders (drums), Mikael (bass) and Lars-Peter (keys).
The first years we maintained a low profile, concentrating on developing ourselves as musicians and developing our music.
In 2005 we decided it was time to make a move, we participated in a band contest called NIPI 2005 hosted by Atlantic Music, the biggest record company in Greenland, and won the first prize - a record contract. For us it felt like we were stars for a night as we really were the favorites of the night - one truly unforgetable night! ;-)
Our original name "Lullaby" was already taken, so we changed it to "Sonnet", after a beautiful song by The Verve.
