Born into a family of spiritual healers and mystics, Rev. William Gameson's entire life has been devoted to learning, researching, and teaching spiritual awareness. At the age of 17yrs Rev. William entered a Benedictine monastery to begin his monastic training and quickly immersed himself in comparative religion and Christian mysticism.
In 2001 Rev. William developed a love for the Tibetan culture and began learning about Tibetan Buddhism. In September 2004 Rev. William was invited as a special guest of Khempo Yurmed Tinley Rinpoche to receive four days of teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. This event changed Rev. William's life, and it was at this time he decided to formally study Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhism more in depth.
Since then Rev. William has been a student of and/or received empowerments from: H.E. Khempo Yurmed Tinley Rinpoche, Lama Sherab Dorje Tulku, H.E. Tsewang Seetar Rinpoche, Tulku Tenpa Rinpoche, Lama Pema Tenzin, and the Venerable Za Choeje Rinpoche.
After years of study of Buddhist scripture and philosophy, Rev. William received ordination in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Also in March of 2008 Rev. William was elevated to the office of Bishop by the Church of Seven Planes. Recognizing the need for more interfaith foundations, the City of Light Church was founded in September 2008.
Rev. William currently serves as:
Spiritual Director of the City of Light ChurchCo-Founder of the Ancient Healing AcademyBishop with the Church of Seven PlanesResident monk of Osel Dorje Nyingpo
