Ebony Voices for Education

About Me

Founded in 1974 as the United Negro College Fund Choir , the ensemble has been singing as a community choir "Ebony Voices for Education" since 1999. The choir is a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization whose mission is to encourage and support the academic growth of neighborhood youth while providing the Harlem community with quality choral music. We are available for concerts, fundraisers, guest appearances and weddings. Our repertoire includes a variety of musical styles such as contemporary gospel, arias, anthems, negro spirituals and show tunes.
We rehearse under the direction of Dennis Kadan on Monday evenings at 7:30 PM at Greater Hood Memorial A.M. E. Church, 160 West 146 Street ( between Adam C. Powell Boulevard and Lenox Avenue), New York 10039. For further information, please contact Corresponding Secretary M. Ponton at 718-379-6641 or Recording Secretary P. Weston at 212-926-8403.
