Soprano singer and actress Chen Liony is one of the brightest new talents to emerge in music and theatre in Israel.
Liony was born in 1976 and raised in Tel Aviv in Israel. At the young age of 8 she made her lifetime commitment to be and actress and singer.
During Liony's military service, she perfomed in the Israeli army's theatre. In 1996 she went on to study singing and drama at the prestigious "Beit Zvi School of the Arts" where she received 12 scholarships for excellence in the field of singing and acting. She was also classically trained by the opera teacher Daphna Cohenben shaol
She performed in 1999 in "Les Miserable" in "The National Opera of Israel", appeared in several leading parts in the "Orna Porat Theatre" and "The Kibbutz Theatre ", and performed as a soloist in musical concerts of George Gershwin, Kurt Wiell and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
In 2002 Liony starred in some major leading parts in the "National Theatre of Israel "Habima Theatre" including "The Witch","Pockets from America"," Many Like Me" and " They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" She soon became one of the most popular young actresses and was named : " The most promising young theatre actress of Israel 2002". Liony has also written, directed and starred in a one woman show : " Many Like Me (Rabot Camony)" which received enthusiastic reviews.
Liony has performed in Israel and London. Liony performed the Hebrew dubbing for "Jane" in Walt Disney's film "Tarzan and Jane", and others in "Toy story" and "Chicken Run ".
