I'm not superstitious, just a little stitious.

About Me

I'm a drummer of about 19 years first and foremost (I'm not 19 years old by the way:0). I've since become a back up vocalist (past 5 years), and an electric bass player (past 8 years...5 professionally).
I'm originally from Chicago...born there, moved west to a town called Dixon early on...then back up to the city after High School for a bit before making the big move to California....where it seems I've been destined for all along. People are more excepting of my style, ie. tattoos, piercings, etc.... What ppl back in Dixon would follow you around the stores for, thinking you would steal stuff......ppl out here not only accept, but allot look similar, or even more drastic. It's great.
Plus, I dove right into the music scene out here. It took me a bit to get up money for another drum set, since my kit back home wouldn't have been worth the money to send. However, it seemed once I got a set and got "my chops" up, as ppl like to call them, I seemed to roll from one thing to the next. From then till now, I became the drummer for Christian Rock Band, Mayfair Laundry. I played many a weekend/week-long mini tours playing w/ other Christian bands like Five Iron Frenzy, The Channel Surfers and Christafari to name a few. Then we did a full-on 2 month national tour hitting everywhere from North Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, to driving through Pennsylvania to get to gigs in New Jersey. It was quite the ride. We had a motor home w/ a big trailer in back w/ hour gear. I had my own room in the back of the home....it was great. I then got to write and record drum tracks for 6 songs by an up and coming artist known as "Wendy". We did it at a studio in Placerville and the project was produced by Frank Hannon of Tesla. He also played the bass tracks. I went on to join a tribute band to Early Metallica called "Whiplash". We played all over Northern California eventually opening up for Quiet Riot. Very cool. Their drummer even used my double kick pedal when his broke during the first song.
Anyway....that's my main ride so far. I've done little fill in gigs and small projects as well through the years. I even wrote and recorded drum and percussion tracks for a singer/songwriter named Kristi Matal. We recorded it at the same studio Cake uses.
I was a part of a disco band, the Bootie Shakers, for about 5 years or so. We dressed up in 70's gear: wigs, glasses, flashy/shiny clothes and performed the best hits from the disco era. We played locally and the casino circuit in Tahoe and Reno.
I also have been playing Sunday morning worship at a church called Pathway Fellowship for about....uh...going on 8 years now. Wow. Time flies! It's been great.
That's it for now.....That's about all I do... You can see info on each gig in more detail, includeing some pics of gigs...as well as pics of me and family and friends and all that on my main website at www.bryan-fields.net Thanx for stoppin' by. God Bless. :0)

My Interests

Music: playing it, making it, listening to it etc. Movies...especially horror and J-horror. And I love anything asian: the culture, the places, the decor, the martial arts, and of course.....the girls!

I'd like to meet:

Jesus...and I will someday. My Grandfather, Russell Fields: he gave me what I have as far as sense of humor as well as talent as a musician. He was in a band w/ Louis Armstrong for the love of Todd. And Zhang Ziyi cuz she's beautiful and has worked hard to make her American star status. Ummm and...... oh........ WHATEVA!!!

Music:

Broad range....metal(ish): S.o.a.D., Sepultura, early Metallica, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden....to Pop: All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy...to vocalists and folky stuff: Eva Cassidy, Tom Jones, Gary Pucket, Billie Holiday, to random oldies: Janis (big fav!), Doors, The Who...and many more....

Movies:

There was a table on here that listed "My Movie Profile" if anyone saw it....it was gay. Didn't list my type of movies at all. I love Horror movies...most of you know that. Whether "B" horror movies or not...they're all great. I also like suspense thrillers (good ol Alfred ya know), and some comedies. I could watch the Brat Pack over and over again. "B'fast Club", "Sixteen Candles" "Wierd Science" etc. My brother and I actually recited the B'fast club one night when we were hanging out. That's how often I've seen it. :0)

Television:

I tried to dial it down. I had video tapes on video tapes of stuff to watch and I never seemed to catch up. So now I try to stick to "Lost", and "Heroes". I watch other stuff...but those are the ones I still record. I love CSI and CSI: NY (CSI:Miami can blow it out their collective arses), Law and Order: CI, FAMILY GUY of course!!! And most everything on Court TV, like Forensic Files, New Detectives, etc. Oh, and on SciFi, I dig Ghost Hunters (Grant's one of my myspace friends :0)

Books:

I do allot of audio books. I drive for my job so I can get through a lot of books. I've done the whole Sue Grafton series...or at least I keep up w/ her putting them out. And I always try to keep up w/ Stephen King. I read allot of nonfiction too: biographies, stories of wierd interest etc. Basically anything cool.

Heroes:

I always liked Superman, and Captain America. Oh....the other types of heroes....sorry. Um... Jesus. That's about all I can think of. Idles I guess....I love Stewart Copeland of the Police. He's my favorite drummer.
