In 1994 a fiend was born.
Having graduated from highschool, John Stone went to Germany and discovered djing. Cutting his trip short a month, he came back to kansas city and immediately planned a trip to st louis, spending every cent he had on records. Going for broke has been the theme ever since. From '94 until '98, under the alias Dj Hope, John focused his efforts into trance and progressive house. With a positive vibe and a diehard love of fast and hard music, he kept busy every weekend playing house parties, early raves as well as a residency at a local underage club.
In 98, with a swift kick of inspiration from the growing breaks scene, Stone moved his focus towards breaks and has gone by the name eclypz. Often mispelled but never missed, he has pushed the limits of what is expected of a dj. His sets could best be described as a mixture between a DMC battle and a smooth Club set. Always trying to push his skills further, eclypz has been known to push the envelope with a pioneering attitude, always trying something new, leaving limitations at the door.
In 2005, 11 years later, Stone has emerged with an appetite for production. Working from home fulltime, on everything from graphic design to Music production to working on his scratch techniques, eclypz has been reborn, with a fire in his belly to take on his own dreams and ambitions.
"To have the freedom and confidence to dream out loud is my only goal at this point. If people are also moved, inspired, and engaged by it then I'll probably never want to wake up."
